What skin do we have in the game? This quesƟon was asked over and over again in the seminary of us, the semi-narians. It is a good quesƟon. Another way to ask this quesƟon is what ownership have you taken in……? This weekend we hear in our gospel that Jesus is the good shep-herd who protects and looks aŌer his sheep. The other image that is given is that of the hired hand who at the first sign of trouble, runs away. The hire hand had no skin in the game. As a parish, we each must take ownership and work together to build up the parish community. It is not just to expect that everything should be done for us and not have to contribute in some way to the community. During the Easter season our call is not to just celebrate but to take the good news that Christ is Risen and let it permeate and moƟvate all that we do! Let us pray as we conƟnue to serve Christ and his Church that we will be open to the Holy Spirit and where God is calling us to serve in the communi-ty. This week we have also celebrated the sacraments of ConfirmaƟon and First Eucharist with 74 of our parish mem-bers! Let us pray for them as they begin this new chapter in their relaƟonships with Christ! Peace, Fr. Arthur

Que piel tenemos en el juego? Esta pregunta fue pedida una y otra vez en el seminario de nosotros, los seminaristas. Es una pregunta muy buena. Otra manera de hacer esta pre-gunta es, que propiedad hemos tomado nosotros….? Este fin de semana escuchamos en nuestro evangelio que Jesus es el buen pastor que proejé y se ocupa de sus ovejas. La otra imagen que nos dan es aquella del asalariado, que ha primera vista en un problema, le corre. El asalariado no te-nía piel en el juego. Como una parroquia, debemos, cada uno de nosotros, tomar propiedad y trabajar juntos para construir la comunidad parroquial. No es nada más de espe-rar que todo debe hacerse por nosotros y no contribuir en una manera a la comunidad. Durante la temporada de la Pascua, nuestro llamado no tan solo es de celebrar pero también tomar la buena noƟcia que Cristo ha resucitado y dejar impregnar y moƟvar todo lo que hacemos! Oremos a medida que conƟnuamos a servir a Cristo y su Iglesia y que nos abriremos al Espíritu Santo y a donde Dios nos llama para servir a la comunidad. Esta semana también celebramos los sacramentos de Confinación y Primero Comunión con 74 de nuestros miembros parroquiales. Oremos por ellos ahora que comienzan este nuevo capítulo hacia su relación con Cristo!
