F . A ’ C Once again the Mission and Parish celebrated San Luis Rey in style with a Solemn Mass and Procession on Friday last. It was prayerful and joyful with won-derful fireworks, dancing, singing, music, and food. Thanks to Padre Luis and his hardworking team for all the hours of prepara on that went into making the annual event a great success yet again. Viva San Luis Rey! The Franciscan School of Theology is preparing to open its doors once again to students for the Fall Semester. Watch out for the ‘open lectures’ and other events on offered to the general public throughout the year. You’re never too old to be a student so if you feel inclined to deepen your love for Sacred Scripture, Spirituality or Theology in gen-eral, contact the Franciscan School right here on the Mission campus. Details are in the Parish Bulle n. Our Parish Pilgrimage leaves for Rome and the Franciscan Holy Places, including Assisi and La Ver-na, on October 13. The pilgrimage is full to capacity at 47 but for those who s ll want to go we offer an-other trip in April, 2015. If this interests you, please contact Wendy Brophy at 858-756-4174 x1702 or email at [email protected] for further infor-ma on. The April trip will be the same as the one in October and will be led by Fr. Adrian. Altar Servers are asked to a end Saturday re-hearsals in August at 12:00 noon in the Serra Cen-ter. Rehearsals are an hour, no longer. You must a end two sessions for upda ng and to meet the new head of this ministry (English-speaking), Art Hernandez. If you are a new parishioner and you would like to serve in the parish as a Lector, Eucharis c Minis-ter or in another ministry, please contact me at the parish office. And if you are a not so new parishion-er we would love to hear from you also. Training is offered and par cipa on is flexible to fit your busy schedule. May the week ahead be a blessed one for you – please keep praying for peace and especially for the people of the Middle-East. Fr. Adrian.
