Weekend of April 25 – 26, 2015

Birthline – Clothing Needed Birthline provides assistance to pregnant women and mothers of infants in need. Over 1,500 mothers are served annually and are provided material goods such as maternity clothes, baby clothes, diapers, baby shampoo and other necessary supplies. Our current needs are sizes 0-3 months and 3 6 months clothes (pants, tops, sweaters, jackets and pajamas) for both girls and boys, and maternity clothes always welcome. We are grateful for your kindness and generosity. Donations can be dropped off at the Catholic Center on Mondays and Wednesdays until 3:00 pm. World Meeting of Families Monthly Theme – May 2015: Light in a Dark World At its best, the family is a school of love, justice, compassion, forgiveness, mutual respect, patience and humility in the midst of a world darkened by selfishness and conflict. In these ways, the family teaches what it means to be human. However, any temptations arise which try to coax us into forgetting that male and female are created for covenant and communion. For example, poverty, affluence, pornography, contraception, philosophical and other intellectual mistakes can all create contexts that challenge or threaten healthy family life. The Church resists these things for the sake of protecting the family. Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Prayer Vigils – Terre Haute – May 2, 2015 This event, which is held the 1st Saturday of the month, begins with participants joining the 7:30 am Mass at the Carmelite Monastery (59 Allendale, Terre Haute). At 9:30 am, participants will prayerfully proceed to the nearby abortion facility at 30 S. 3rd Street, Terre Haute, to pray in front of the facility (parking along Ohio Street) until 10:00 am. Next, the group will travel to St. Patrick Adoration Chapel (1807 Poplar Street, Terre Haute) to pray Divine Mercy Chaplet with devotions concluding around 10:30 am. “Know your Body: Love your Spouse” - April 30, 2015 & May 3, 2015 Creighton Method Fertility Care Introductory Session with Liz Escoffery FCPI. Thursday, April 30, 2015 6:30-8:00 pm, Catholic Center, Benedictine Room - 1400 N. Meridian St. Indianapolis, IN 46202 Sunday, May 3, 2015 2:00-3:30 pm, St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Upper Room - 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217. — John 15:13 (NABRE © 2010 CCD. Vivid accounts of his tenderness for “the least of these”—the elderly, the imprisoned, those with disfiguring disabilities, the unborn, and many more—seize our attention. Why? At the heart of each of these interactions is a truth which resonates in our hearts, revealing to us something essential to understanding ourselves and our purpose. We are loved.”

The infertility industry has a dirty little secret.

A Documentary Film by THE CENTER FOR BIOETHICS AND CULTURE

The infertility industry in the United States has grown to a multi-billion dollar business. What is its main commodity? Human eggs. Young women all over the world are solicited by ads—via college campus bulletin boards, social media, online classifieds—offering up to $100,000 for their “donated” eggs, to “help make someone’s dream come true.” But who is this egg donor? Is she treated justly? What are the short- and long-term risks to her health? The answers to these questions will disturb you...

eggsploitation spotlights the booming business of human eggs, told through the tragic and revealing stories of real women who became involved and whose lives have been changed forever.
