It was great to welcome PE Arja back after her extended European holiday. No doubt she will contribute many exciting photos for Chelsea to include in her Changeover presentation. Arja was quickly back to business with a report of the two golf days held during this Rotary year. The October event hosted 111 players and raised $18,440 for charity. The Sponsors Appreciation Day held in March though not planned as a fundraiser still resulted in an income of $6,000. Arja acknowledged the support of our many sponsors of this event over the past 27 years and in particular thanked tonight’s guest speaker Narelle Melhuish for the sponsorship and support provided by Holiday World Travel.

CLUB NEWS AND EVENTS.

• Dieter reported that the Honorary, Past and Present Members morning tea held at EVVIVA was again a most enjoyable experience for all. The morning tea is now held monthly and each successive event is gaining a greater attendance. Place this date in your diary.

• Chelsea has received the new and updated signage ready for installation at Gan Gan Lookout. This will make the lookout even more attractive for tourists and will be installed by Don and John next week.

• Chelsea has returned the Rotary Foundation Raffle tickets sold by members. Our club has contributed $400. • Alesco College is conducted locally at Nelson Bay PCYC and is an educational program aimed to provide

support and educational opportunities for vulnerable young people. The goal is to assist these young people to complete year 9 and 10 schooling with the opportunity of progressing to Higher School Certificate studies. For many of these students mainstream schooling has proven difficult and they find it difficult to complete their schooling under the traditional model. Our club is proud to support the Nelson Bay Alesco College and on Wednesday will assist the special day for the combined District Colleges. Our club will cater for the ALESCO Mini Olympics.

• Have you provided any travel photos or photos of Rotary events? If not please email photos to Chelsea for inclusion in the display on our Club’s Changeover Night.
