WelcomeOn behalf of the Erixon family I would like to welcome fellow seed stock producers and commercial cattlemen to the Erixon Simmentals Bull & Female Sale.

The first Simmental cows were purchased in 1974 and we have stayed with the breed ever since. The herd is built around strong cow families that have been consistent over the years. We believe in the power of the momma cow. Our bulls and heifers come to you out of the industry’s leading A.I sires and one of our own walking bulls. We take great pride in striving to find exciting new and upcoming sires. Some of the proven herdsires that are represented again this year are; Red Force, Gunner, Red Ace, and Red Bull. A solid group of Crosby calves will sell again this year as the fifteen bulls from last year were in strong demand and caused a lot of talk. We are very pleased with the job the new kids on the block are doing; Wallbanger, Stubby and Red Iron.

All the bulls and heifers are on the Pfizer Gold program and have been poured with Ivomec. The calves see no creep feed and are developed on a high roughage ration that promotes growth and longevity. The majority of the heifer calves were weaned on October 22nd and are presented to you in working condition. We are committed to the industry and are always striving to raise the best stock possible.

Welcome to Erixon Simmental Bull and Female sale. I am pleased to have had the privilege of watching this program develop into one of the elite herds of Simmental cattle anywhere! What a pleasure. As a commercial or purebred breeder, these Erixon Bulls and Females, demand your attention. Muscle, hair, temperament, and sound structure to name a few, are some very important traits that I found repeatedly as I toured the Erixon Ranch. This consistency doesn’t happen overnight, but is a result of their passion for Simmental cattle and drive to do a better job year after year.

Its great to be back with Transcon Livestock and working with the Erixon family. 9 years ago I started with Transcon and David came home full-time to rejoin his father Bob in the Simmental business on

the heels of BSE. Didn’t we look like a couple of rocket scientists. Skipping ahead to today, I’m glad I made the choices I did, and the Erixon’s should be proud of their accomplishments and the positive impact they have had on the cattle industry.

Option A: $50 off per lot if picked up sale day

Option B: Free on bulls to central points in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba, cost shared to other locations. In most cases we will deliver the bull to your yard. Trucking will start immediately after the sale at seller’s convenience.

Option C: Bulls may be left at the farm free of charge until April 15. A $3.00/day fee will apply after that and bulls will then need to be picked up or delivery arrangements made with the seller.

Game On has a lot of flexibility when you analyze his ability to fit into a wide variety of programs. There were not a lot of LFE Red Northern cattle born and being red out of the black bull Stubby makes for an outcross red pedigree. He will have an impact on whatever program he goes into. He was part of our 2012 fall show team and made a lot of friends along the way. Game On is a stretchy individual who moves very well. You will admire his large hoof and clean flat bone in his rear leg. It is not easy to find a bull with this kind of performance and carry a high calving easy number and low birth weight all in one. The cow family backing Game On is top notch. The grandmother, 440P, has raised many top end replacement females, two show heifers and her 2011 bull calf sold to Prairie Wind Simmentals for $10,000. 75X will walk in her mother’s footsteps and could not of done a better job on her first time around. It is not everyday that you find the depth of flank and balance that 32Z demonstrates. He has smooth blending of parts, loads of thick hair and comes off a perfect, and I mean perfect, uddered cow. 2P is a cow that has more than proven herself with a female working in Tymarc’s herd and a female going to Czech Mate Simmentals in the 2008 pick of the barn. Here are two bulls to watch for on sale day. These two have to be appreciated for their width of hip and overall spring of rib. They have tremendous muscle shape through the quarter, and will add some explosive performance while maintaining a moderate frame. If you want to talk about the momma cow, she is the type you would duplicate over and over. She is structurally right, capacious, smooth blending and has an udder that can compete with the best.

We were able to get some of the first semen on him and have had several standout calves over the last couple of years. He definitely caused some talk this fall at CWA as he was part of our show string. Wallbanger calves have lots of jam and substance to them. It is not often that a bull that throws high perfomring calves can be used with great success in the heifer pen. He is soggy, soft sided, has a flawless disposition and super cool hair!
