Runs 5-6 Better wall insulation decreases heat load and slightly increases cooling load. Runs 6-6A Effect of going to 4” insulation in wall.Runs 5-7 Improving windows from code windows; U.35SHGC.40 wood windows go to U.33/SHGC.46 and U.45/SHGC.40 metal go to U.28/SHGC.27.

Sizable reduction in cooling load due to SHGC reduction.Runs 5-8 Reduction in SHGC increases heating load, less solar gain. Big savings in cooling.Runs 5-9 4th best energy performer but 2nd best opcost performer because it saves 2nd most elec for cooling and electricity is the more expensive fuel.Runs 5-10 Lowest opcost and energy use.
