Every member was emailed a link to go online and create a

webpage about your business within our directory!

Members are able to post your own website link, pictures of projects, videos,

logos etc. You can also post company events, job openings, sales, hot deals and

more! These postings go out to our members and the general public though

our website and social media.

IBS Registration Opens August 1 – Book Early and Save!

The NAHB International Builders' Show® (IBS) is the largest annual light construction show in the

world,

every year attracting more than 60,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. IBS brings together the

industry’s most important global manufacturers and suppliers and showcases the latest products,

materials and technologies. See more than 400,000 square feet of exhibits and 1,300 manufacturers

and suppliers of the latest and most in-demand products and services. The show also features 120+

sessions in eight tracks, taught by renowned building industry experts from across the country. With

topics ranging from sales and marketing to construction and codes, there is literally something for

everyone.

The show is January 10-12, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. Beginning August 1, IBA members can register

for the show and book a room in the assigned hotel block via www.BuildersShow.com. The IBA hotel is

Las Palmeras (a Hilton Grand Vacation Club). The deadline to reserve rooms within the room block is

October 14.

Now is the best time to register for IBS because there are some hot deals that are only

Indiana Single-Family Building Permits up 14% for First Half of 2016

Single-family building permits in Indiana increased 6 percent in June compared to the same time last year according to the latest

data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Permits decreased 2 percent in June

over the previous month. This is the fifth straight month single-family housing starts in Indiana have increased over the same

time last year. The single family permit numbers for the first half of 2016 are up 14 percent compared to the first half of 2015.

Construction Contracts & Law Seminar

IBA is hosting a Construction Contracts & Law seminar which will include information on copyright infringement of house plans

as well as several other hot topics including:

• Construction contract basics: learn which type of contract is best for your business, including recent legislation actions covering

time and material contracts

• Warranty laws and court decisions for new and existing homes

• Employee/subcontractor agreements

• Mechanics’ Lien issues

• New developments in Indiana law affecting builders and developers

The 3-hour seminar is $149 for IBA members and will be offered on September 12 in Carmel, October 18 in Jeffersonville and

IBA Board of Directors Will Meet Sept. 12

The IBA Board of Directors will meet on Monday, September 12 at 12:15 p.m. at the 502 East Event Centre in Carmel. Committee

meetings will be held on Sunday, September 11 and Monday, September 12. Accommodations are available at the Homewood

Suites by Hilton (formerly DoubleTree). Please call the hotel (317-844-7994) by August 19 and ask for the Indiana Builders

Association special rate of $109 (plus tax) for a king suite that includes breakfast and wireless internet. All members are invited to

attend the committee meetings of their choice. The cost for the Board of Directors Lunch Meeting is $25 per person. Payment is

IBA 2016 Golf Outing – Sept. 20

Join us for the IBA 2016 Bill Carson Memorial Golf Outing on Tuesday, September 20 at Juday Creek Golf Course in Granger.

Proceeds benefit NAHB BUILD-PAC and IBA. Registration and lunch begin at noon followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A tail

gate party and awards will take place following golf. The cost is $400 per foursome and the deadline to register is September 1.

Scholarship Application Deadline – Sept. 30

IBA has funds available for projects and scholarships that benefit the housing industry through the Indiana Builders Charitable

Foundation (IBCF) and IBA’s Educational Scholarship Foundation. IBCF provides funding to educational causes that enhance

knowledge and understanding of the housing Industry and of the career opportunities available within the industry. IBA’s

Educational Scholarship Foundation honors IBA’s long-time CEO, the late Bill Carson, by providing youth the opportunity to

become the dream-makers of future generations. The Foundation awards scholarships to deserving students who have chosen the
