Purpose: Develop a web site with free software
If you have a web browser, you are a client. Now, lets develop a web site to contain our own content and serve it to the world.

Ubuntu 12.04 will completely replace our current system

3. Download web server management
4. Develop web pages .
5. Allow people to access those pages
This lesson will teach us how to reach the 1st objective.

When we’ve finished these sections, we will have reached our first objective. Ubuntu 12.04, a free and open system, will have completely replaced our windows system.

1.1 Prerequisites1.1.1. A Windows computer Xp/Vista/7 (32 or 64 bit) with
At least 500 mb of memoryAt leas 1Gb of disk free spaceInternet accessCD or CD/DVD drive - Ubuntu12.04 will fit on a CD.
1.1.2 CD burner program (next slide)

In classic view, system will tell how much memory there is, whether you have a 32 bit or 64 bit system and what service pack, if any, is installed. Device Manager will tell if you have a CD or a CD/DVD.

They are all free. The install file, remember its name, will be put into your Download folder.

1.2. DownloadWe log into Ubuntu.com and download Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The iso file
will be put in the Download directory. It takes a long time, so be patient.

1.3. Make a Bootable DiskNow that we have the iso file downloaded, we will use the CD/DVD burner to create a bootable disk. That disk can now be read by any target machine that has an appropriate optical drive.
Start to think about assembling a package of items you can use to make more Ubuntu systems. For now, we have identified the iso file, and the CD/DVD burner installation file.

1.4. Installation
Our bootable Ubuntu installation disk is now in the drive of the target machine. We need to adjust the boot order, so that the system will boot from the CD. When you start your machine, you will get a chance to enter the boot program. Once there, you can make that change.
