DESCRIPTION
“BudgetStories.md: Building a Citizens’ Government Understanding” is an innovative open data visualizations project, which is offering a more accessible — and visually appealing — way to look at open budget data. While the project is still developing, by now it has cleared perceptions, triggered and sparkled discussions about important spending sectors in the Republic of Moldova: education, agriculture, public administration. The project also tackled the topic of external assistance for Moldova. In the near future, the project plans to publish ”budgetstories” in health, justice system and other major spending sectors. The project’s audience: citizens of the Republic of Moldova, taxpayers, media, international donors community, relevant ministries. The projects results got the attention of relevant ministries (Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education).
