15 Years with the Buddy Bears (2001–2016) We would like to say THANK YOU for 15 years of working with us and for the numerous ways of supporting our project. We continue to make our contribution to more tolerance and to people living more peacefully with each other and side by side – in Berlin and all over the world. It is good to know that you are reliably by our side – thank you very much!

So far, EUR 2.1 million have been generated in aid of UNICEF and many local children’s relief organi-sations through donations and auctions accompanying Buddy Bear activities in Germany and abroad. (Reference date: February 2016)

On arrival, a Buddy Bear welcomes everybody in the six official UN world languages (plus German)! The Syrian family in the photo has found a home in Berlin-Köpenick in the meantime!

Anniversary: 50 Years ITB Berlin

Messe Berlin (Trade Fairs & Events in Berlin) sent 50 “Berlin ambassadors“ with a limited edition of ITB Buddy Bears to 50 travel destina-tions all over the world.

At their destinations, the travellers met representa-tives of the individual coun-tries and presented them with a Buddy Bear.

The World Money Fair (WMF) took place in Berlin from 5th to 7th February 2016. The "Royal Australian Mint (RAM)", in Australia’s capital Canber-ra issued a special coin with the emo-tive symbol of Berlin – a Buddy Bear! Visitors were able to purchase this Buddy Bear coin at the largest global collectors’ fair.
