“I BELIEVE IN THE RADICAL POSSIBILITIES
OF PLEASURE, BABE.”— BIKINI KILL
Since 1979, Buddies has used the theatre to create a more
liberated, compassionate, and multifaceted world for us
all. It has been 35 years of fearless artistic risks, giving
voice to the voiceless, and building a strong and resilient
community. At the centre of all that we do, like a heartbeat,
is the conviction that everyone has the right to discover,
explore, and experience their own version of pleasure.
In the next few pages, you will discover a season of artists
who are unafraid to tell their own truth, who are rigorous in
their questioning, who are unabashed in their beauty, and who
are boundless with their love. These trailblazers, mavericks,
visionaries, and soothsayers represent the incredible richness
of stories and styles that encompass what queer theatre is
today. Together, they uphold the dream of a world in which we
are permitted to express the fullness and complexity of our
desires. Join us as we create the next 35 years of our history.

How far would you go for love?
PIG follows three gay couples as
they stretch the boundaries of
their relationships in the quest for
deeper levels of intimacy. Through
acts of emotional domination,
sexual submission, compulsion,
and violence, these men delve into
the space where the lines between
shame, hatred, love, and obsession
cease to exist. A provocative
account of contemporary sexuality
told by UK writer Tim Luscombe.

Three of our country's most gifted creator/performers set out to answer one question: is there such a thing as gay heritage? In their search, they uncover a rich history not often shared, shine new light on contemporary gay culture, and fantasize about the prospect of legacy. The result is a hilarious and moving homage to the people who came before us and the events that continue to shape our lives.

A PLEIADE S TH EATR E PRO D U CTIO N
JAN 11 – FEB 2
The quietly pious Manon contemplates her purchase of an
extravagant new rosary, while Sandra, the irreverent, devil-
may-care drag queen, tries to decide what she will wear
tonight. Penned by one of our country's most celebrated
and prolific queer writers, these parallel monologues shed
light on the sacred and the profane that exist within us all.

A father and son escape the horrors of war in Afghanistan, only to be
haunted by a mysterious presence that awakens the forces of devastation
they thought they had left behind. In The Wanderers, Kawa Ada offers
a rare Afghan-Canadian perspective on how the war in his homeland continues to ravage even those who now call Canada home.

FUTURE
In the future, a dying old woman drifts among the thoughts of someone
in the present. In this dream world, a surreal portrait of our past
and future selves unfolds. Seamlessly blending music, storytelling,
and cutting-edge technology, theatrical innovator Marie Brassard
creates a hauntingly beautiful reflection on time and death.

Buddies' founding artistic director returns with a theatrical
fantasy inspired by Bradley Manning and Adrian Lamo
that imagines a queer love affair between two fictional
characters in the midst of the 2010 WikiLeaks scandal.
This poetic experiment in fictional history asks what
happens when gay love and national security collide.
