Introduction

BT Property is a free responsive real estate component for Joomla 2.5 and 3.x. In addition toessential features including management of properties, categories, locations and agents; BT

Property allows users to create custom extra fields by groups, and supports with Google Map,

OpenStreetMap and advanced search. Also BT Property can decentralize right by user groups

such as front-end submission allowance. Let customers experience marvelous features of BT

Property component on your realty site.

Product Features

Properties Management

Flexibility: BT Property component allows you to create multi-level of Categories, fully

attributes for Properties.

Representative image: Each property has a mini image album, its very easy to upload

images by Flash Uploader and you can select a featured one.

Extra fields: Ability to well manage extra fields in accordance with categories and property

items. Extra fields can be grouped.

Mapping system

Google Map and OpenStreetMap: BT Property supports both of them

Map style customization: You can get styled Google Maps as well

Marker cluster: Allow to group a large number of makers

Voting and Commenting System

Installing and Upgrading

System Requirement

Server requirements PHP 5.0 or above with GD library is enabled. Please follow this link

to check it

MySQL 5.0 or above

Joomla 2.5.x or above;

Client requirements Firefox 30.x, Internet Explorer 9 or above...

Downloading

BT Property Component is a free extension. You can register and downloadhere.

Manual Installation

Please follow these steps to install the product:

Module Upgrading

Upgrading of this extension to newest version can be easily done by following again installation

steps above. But we recommend you to back up your changes of source code and language files

in this module before starting any upgrades.

UninstallingFor uninstalling the product, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to Extension Manager

Step 2: Click to Manage tab

Step 3: Choose Componenttype

Step 4: Mark checkbox of the module

Step 5: Click Uninstall button

Settings

Back-end access: Choose Component from the main menu. Click BT Property to start

configuration process.

Add and Edit Page

To add a new property, click on New button, next, please look on the left side of

browser. To edit, select a property to modify.

Title Enter title of Property here. Its required

Alias Alias of Property. No need to enter any value. Its automatically.

Category Choose one or many categories which the property belongs with

Property status Select status of property. Example For Rent

Ordering Choose an order of property. But this parameter isnt available

when you create new property.

Ribbon The ribbon over property image on listing. Example: Free Visit

Price Enter price for property

Agent Select agent for property

Featured Mark a property as the featured one

Allow rating Users can give you a stars rating which is displayed in property

detail and then leave a comment

Access Choose an access level (to allow the person who can view this

property).

Language Choose a language

Status Choose a publication status with two options: Published and

Unpublished

ID Product ID, its 0 when you are creating a new one.

If you do not specify, the icon of property category will be used

Place on map You can drag and drop the marker to set the location of property. The latitude,

longitude and zoom level will be updated automatically

o Extra Fields

This is Extra Fields tab in Property Edit Page, all extra fields of categories, of which the

property are listed here. You can enter or select a particular value to these extra fields.

- Upload images: you can select either Flash Upload or Simple Upload in component

configuration:

+ Flash upload: You can upload all images at once. However, this function might not

working properly on some hostings and browsers, so you have to switch uploader to

simple upload

+ Simple upload: You must click the + icon and x to add/remove more upload boxes.

You only select one file for one upload box. Please see the following illustrated image:

- Deleting images: You can completely remove one or multiple images by clicking Clear

all or click the Remove button on each images when you mouse over them.

- Making an image default: you can choose and make an image as the propertys default

image by clicking radio button on top-left corner of image.

- Edit image info: Click edit button on each images, enter title and description in the

popup window

- Ordering images: just drag and drop it to new position

o Related properties tab

Click add new and select one property to make it as the related property. You can clickRemove or Clear All button to delete one or all of them.

o Advanced tab

Created date Select a date from Date Picker or let it be selected automatically

Modified Date Last modified date of property. Itsfor read-only

Hits Number of property hits.

Comment Total Number of comments on the property

Meta Title Title of propertys details page.

Meta Keywords Value of HTML Keywords Meta Tag. Each word is separated by a

comma. Frequently used for SEO

Description Enter a paragraph that will be value of HTML Description Meta Tag.

Title Insert Category name here. Its required

Alias Alias of category. You can enter a text or let it empty. Module will

assign a value base on categorys title.

Parent Choose a category to make it parent of current category

Ordering Order category here. Only use this parameter when new category is

created.

Access Choose access level (who is allowed to view) of this category

Language Choose language which the category is assigned to

Status Choose Status for category

ID Id of category. At the time of creating a category, the value is 0

Main image Main image is shown as thumbnail id grid of categories

Short Description Enter description of category here

A category also has other parameters. Please take a look on the right side of screen, you will

see these sections: Category options, Category Layout, Metadata, and Permissions (see more

in the Permissions page)

*Note: Value Use Global in a parameter means that this parameter will have the same value

with the corresponding parameter in Configuration section

Extra Fields Choose list of extra fields

Inherited If you choose Yes, Extra Fields will be inherited from parent

category

You can choose a category to make parent of current category

Show on navigation Select whether you want this category to be shown on categories

menu

Extra Fields Manager

Each property can have different informations like Area, Beds, Baths, Garages, Thats why this

component was built with an Extra Fields Manager. Extra fields will be assign to each category.

Managing them in BT Properties is as simple as in other original components of Joomla. It

contains a list, toolbar, filter and ordering.

Title Giving name of extra fields here

Type Choose one of 08 types:

- Link: using a tag

- Image: using img tag

- String: using textbox

-

Editor: using editor to enter data

- Measurement: using for the measurement and searching purpose.

Example: the number of room, area

- Dropdown: Select one of the given options. Example: Quality (High,

Normal, Low)

- Checkboxlist: Allow to select multiple options. Example: Features

(Air conditioning, Internet, Use of pool, Cable TV, Terrace, Hi-Fi,

Beach, Balcony)

- Date: using a calendar to enter data.

Default Value This parameter will be shown after choosing type (Link, Images, String,

Editor, Measurement, Date). There are different parameters corresponding

with each type. This value is just default, when the extra field is assigned to

a category, and can be changed.

Default Options This parameter will be shown after choosing type (Dropdown & Checkbox

list)

Enter options for dropdown/ checkbox list. The values are separated by

new line.

Description Enter description of extra field here

Ordering Order extra field here. Only use this parameter when new extra field is

created.

Status Choose from 02 statuses: Published (default) and Unpublished.

Featured Featured extra fields will be showed on the listing page and the first block

of property detail page (summary information)

Show on submit If yes, this extra fields will be showed on frontend submit property page

Show the label Show or hide title label of extra field

Group Select group for the extra fields. The group can be created in Extra field

group manager

Categories Select the categories that you want to assign

Review system

This feature allows users to comment and rate properties. You may turn off this feature for all

properties using component configuration () or for each property using property parameter.

Configuration

This section allows you to configure whole component like: display options, slideshow options

or print options Its is a modal window, you can open it by clicking Option button on the top-

right corner of the page.

After clicking, a modal window is showed. It contains 05 tabs:

Display Options: These are parameters relating themes, price options, image quality,

etc

Review Options: All parameters of Comment and Voting System are gathered here.

Agent Options: Allows you to integrate with BT Social Connect. You can disable empty

agent (who doesnt have any property) in the agents listing page

Advanced Options: Submission, Uploader, Watermark parameters are putted into this

tab.

Permissions: Permissions for users

o Themes Options

Select theme Currently, we only support one theme: default. You may clone this

theme to make your custom theme.

- Copy the folder of theme

components/com_bt_property/themes/defaultand then

rename to your custom theme you want.

- Return this configuration and then select your custom

theme

- Click save and check the new theme in front end

Images order direction Choose direction for images ordering.

Large img processing There are 4 options:

None: Import image from original folder.

Crop: Crop image by image width, image height and by cropping

position.

Resize: Resize image by image width, image height.

Resize and keep ratio: Resize but keep ratio between width and

height provided that image size isnt exceeding configured size.

Thumb img processing There are 4 options:

None: Import image from original folder.

cropping position.

Resize: Resize image by thumbnail width, thumbnail height.

Reviews Options

Enable review Enable/Disable review system

Allow Guest Select whether you allows website visitors to review for your

property

Auto publish review If you select Yes, reviews will be approved automatically

Limit Characters Specify the maximum number of characters in a comment

Comment display order Choose from two options: Date Ascending and Date Descending

to order comments

Comment per page Choose number of comments on a page

This tab configuration is used to integrate BT Social Connect component. You can select what

the fields in BT Social Connect User will be gotten and shown. If BT Social Connect

Component is not installed, all these fields will empty.

Agent contact fields Select one or more fields for contact info

WM in categories Choose Categories on which you want to apply watermark

WM on thumbnail Apply watermark on thumbnail

WM Type Choose one from two watermark types: Text or Image

WM Text If you choose watermark type is Text. Please enter a text

string here

WM Image If you choose watermark type is Image, browser a image

from folder images of Joomla

WM Font Choose font for watermark

WM Font size Specify watermark font size

WM Font color Enter a hexa code for watermark color. For example: ffffff

(white) or 000000 (black)

WM Background Select whether you want to add background for text

This is a high advanced and important function for frontend submission and editing. The

permission of user can be managed here. You should set Create, Edit own, Delete Own,

Upload mediafor agent users in frontend whom can submit properties on your website.

- Create: Agent User can create and submit properties

- Edit own: Agent User can edit their properties

- Delete own : Agent User can delete their properties

Upload media: Agent User can upload the images for their properties

Common Error Using Product

Problem with Flash Uploader

At present, some web browsers dont support Flash/ HTML5 or theyre having problems with it,so you cant upload images to propertys gallery. Please use Simple Uploader instead, its just

an original File input of HTML.

Conflict with sh404 Component

If you are using sh404 for SEO on your site, your website may come across an error (Not Found

404 or Internal Server Error 500). In this case, please open sh404 component, find BT

Property in By component tab then choose Use Joomla Route for the component as the

following image:

Uninstall by limitation of file size

Installation package of this component takes 2MB, not too large, but the problem here is that

some hosting services only allow customers to upload file with capacity less than 2MB. To solve

it, you should contact with your hosting provider to increase upload max size.

You can see this information in Site > Site Information > PHP information tab

Problem with image processing

If you use BT Property in a long time, many images were created. In case that you try to change

its size in control panel, that might cause the server to be overloaded because it cant process

all images at the same times. Thus, after setting a new dimension of the images, please save

change and click Rebuild Image in Propertys Managerto resize images one by one.

Afterward, the web browser will direct to the page that shows you progress of image processing.
