Details of Field Visits

Studying a subject not only means textual learning, especially when it comes to biological disciplines like botany. Hence the management of SCMS enabled the students to go for studies beyond textbook . The state Karnataka was selected for this reason . A five days tour was conducted including two days of travelling from 18th January to 24th January 2020. As per the course plan of 6th semester of B. Sc. Botany&Biotechnology, the students had to collect plant specimens . With respect to the course objectives, the following places were selected in Karnataka for visiting ;

Chikmaglur Jog falls Yana caves Dandeli Kodachadri

The Shola Forests and thick forest cover Kodachadri and the nearby hills and the place has a cool climate.Due this type of advantages it is a place rich in flora and fauna. The students collected many plant specimens under the guidance of there faculty. The collected plant species include Eugenia sprengelil , Mallotus oppositifolius , Syzigium sps etc.
