Cautions •This machine functions under tremendous heat and pressure. Slowly remove cap ONLY after gauge reads 0 and

remaining steam has been released through the hose or when machine is completely cool.

•Never put anything but water in your steamer. Damage to the ink-alloy coating will occur. You do not need descaling solutions. ANYTHING other than water in the tank voids your warranty.

•When window glass is very cold, warm it by steaming from a distance of 3” before touching with the steam.

•Move rapidly when cleaning wood surfaces - do not deliver the steam to one spot for too long.

•Do not use steam directly on wood floors or cabinets that are finished with a water based varnish.

•Thin vinyl blinds will warp when touched directly with the brush – use the spray and wipe method.

•Move rapidly when cleaning leather. Check for color fastness on the back if dark colored. Should color fade at all, make sure steam is delivered from a 3” distance.

•Do not attempt to clean suede or velvet – damage to the nap may occur.

•Move quickly when cleaning wallpaper and painted walls. To remove wallpaper, steam a seam to melt the glue, then pull paper off the wall. Continue steaming and pulling.

•Never spray steam directly into electronics especially LCD panels (microwave oven). Always deliver the steam from a distance at least 4”. Wipe away any excess moisture immediately. Repeat if necessary.

•Allow the metal brushes time to cool before changing them or wrap in a towel to avoid burning your hands.

•When cleaning soft stones (pearls & opals) deliver steam at a distance of 2”.

•Do not allow your cleaner to bang around in your trunk or fall off an elevated surface. Housing and insulation can crack if dropped or bumped against another hard surface. This repair is not covered under warranty.

•Do not pull your machine by the hose. Reattaching a pulled-apart hose is not covered under warranty.

•Limit exposure to 15 second intervals when using the Plumbers Helper on PVC pipe drains as they may warp. Galvanized and copper pipes can take much longer exposure.

•Supervise children and teach them how to avoid accidental burning. Anyone who can safely use a stove or curling iron can be taught to safely use your Sargent.

Fill with 2 quarts (2 filler bottles full) cool tap water. Tap water is fine, don’t go to the expense of distilled or bottled water. The machine “distills” the water for you.

If you have finished cleaning before your machine runs out of water, simply turn it off and put it away. Next time you use it, • Empty the cold water to remove loose minerals (very important) • Start with a full tank so you can clean longer before refilling.

FILLING WITH WATERALWAYS USE THE FILLER BOTTLE

so you don’t soak the insulation and electronics. The filler bottle cap is spring loaded so it doesn’t drip. Place the tip in the tank and press to release the water.

Alternately, it’s is OK to reheat the water leftover from last session. FYI - Cold water in the tank “crackles” as it heats - this sound is normal. A hissing sound is not normal - check cap or drain plug seals.

Page 6: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

Always turn the power switch off

before unplugging the cord.

Page 7: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

The cap has a pressure safety valve that prevents it from opening while machine is under pressure. To refill a hot machine release this valve by pushing down in the center of the cap and twisting at the same time.

For your safety… the only way to release steam when machine is hot and under pressure is through the hose or iron. Cap is removable ONLY if machine is no longer under pressure (gauge at 0).

Page 8: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

• Fix the cord in its runners when in use. • When storing, remove cord from runners so the door will close. • Plug into a grounded wall socket. • Turn machine off with switches before unplugging from wall socket. • Grasp the plug to disconnect from wall socket. DO NOT yank the cord out of the

wall from a distance or at an angle. The ground plug is very solid, it will not bend. If you pull it out of the wall at an angle it will snap off. This repair is not covered under warranty.

• Allow cord to wind naturally to avoid “pig tailing.” Start from the end attached to the machine (not the free plug end) when you coil it for storage.

• Contact our service center if your cord becomes worn or damaged. 1-800-SGT-STEA(M) • If an extension cord is necessary, use a heavy duty (14-gauge) cord that is no longer than

15 feet. Any cord longer or lighter gauge won’t provide enough power for best results.

ELECTRICAL CORD USE AND STORAGE

TAKING CARE OF YOUR BRZ2 STEAMER The majority of steamer repairs are caused by:

•Bumping or dropping the machine

•Soaking the insulation and electronics with excess water

•Failing to flush minerals from the tank.

•Pulling and stretching the hose when it’s hot

•Lending your equipment to an inexperienced user.

TO AVOID REPAIRS FOLLOW THESE BEST PRACTICES •ALWAYS use the filler bottle to keep the tank insulation and electronics dry.

•Turn the power switch off before unplugging the cord.

•Avoid bumping into things, dropping the machine or dropping things on your machine.

•DO NOT allow it to roll around in your car, bang into walls or fall from an elevated surface. This may cause cracked housing and internal damage. Use more extensions to reach higher or farther rather than elevating the machine. If you must work with it on an elevated surface disengage the wheels or strap into place.

•DO NOT transport the machine with the hose attached.

•Empty the water if you will not be using your machine for a long period.

•Do not allow the machine to freeze, especially with water in the tank.

The stainless steel boiler tank is specially coated to prevent mineral buildup - very easy to maintain.

Never put anything but water in the tank!(Evidence of anything other than water in the tank voids warranty.)

De-scaling chemicals are not necessary and will only damage the coating.

Steam cleans/sanitizes without chemicals so you need no soaps, oils, fragrances or detergents. To keep the tank clean and free of minerals, simply drain from the bottom each time you empty and refill as follows:

• Make sure the unit is cool • Unplug from the wall socket • Use the filler bottle to put 2 quarts of water in the tank• Shake machine to dislodge mineral deposits • Use the cap as a wrench to loosen the plug in the bottom• Drain water and minerals into the sink• Replace the drain plug with the cap wrench (Do not over tighten)

The Presspro Ironing Board has heat and suction for professional

results at home

The Presspro Iron has its own steam generator so it’s

convenient and powerful

IRONING TECHNIQUE TIPS • For better, faster results use slow, even strokes rather than fast, random wiggling. • To iron trousers, lay one leg on top of the other. Make one slow stroke up with steam

and one slow stroke back without steam ironing all four layers of the fabric and setting both creases at the same time.

• Raise the top of the pants off the ironing board and steam the pleats, zipper, and back. • Many garments and fabric window treatments may be steamed vertically.

Page 13: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

DO NOT stretch your hose or pull your machine by the hose, especially when

hose is hot and pliable.

Repair for a separated hose is not covered under warranty.

HOSE

Distance controls temperature. Back up 2-4 inches from surfaces that are not heat resistant. (Vinyl, light plastics, etc.)

Use directly on heat resistant surfaces to quickly degrease and disinfect.

Switches control pressure. • Push only the left orange switch forward for low steam • Push only the right red switch forward for medium steam• Push both switches forward for high steam

•Use low to gently clean fragile, painted or varnished surfaces and for delicate jobs like dried floral arrangements. •Use medium pressure for most jobs. You’ll maintain pressure steadily. •High pressure is for the first quick blast to clear the water condensation or to forcefully push debris from its hiding place. High all the time makes your pressure drop and you will run out of water faster.

Page 14: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

EXTENSION WANDS

• The BRZ2 comes with two wands and can accommodate up to four. • We call them “magic wands” because they keep you off your knees

and off of ladders. • Adding a wand between the hose and the chosen attachment gives

you greater range of motion and more leverage soyou can clean more efficiently and comfortably.

• All red locking rings open to the left and close to the rightRemember left-loosy, righty-tighty

Stain ShockerPre-spray surfaces with Stain Shocker or rub hand soap on bristles to enhance cleaning power.

If brush bristles become very dirty, gummy, (removing wallpaper) or greasy rub them with hand soap and spray with steam nozzle or run through the dish washer.

Who do you know who could sure use a Sargent Steamer to clean their apartments or rental properties in between renters?

Page 16: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

• LINOLEUM –maintenance only • TILE & MARBLE - (grout may require a 1” nylon or stainless steel brush & hand soap.)

• CARPET – Stroke in both directions because carpet fibers have 4 sides. Remove pet hair from carpets - the steam neutralizes the static electricity that causes the hair to stick to the carpet.

• WALLS – move quickly on paint & wallpaper. Wallpaper may be removed if you choose.

• HARDWOOD - Make sure the varnish is oil base (water base discolors) Double wrap your brush with a terry towel and a micro fiber mop pad. Turn steam to the lowest setting. Keep moving…do not leave in one place long.

• CEILINGS – lock to disengage swivel, turn brush assembly upside down at hose.

• MATTRESSES – Kill dust mites every time you change the bedding.

RECTANGLE BRUSH WITH COVER & CLOTH For one step cleaning, drying and polishing of delicate surfaces that are not scratch resistant, add the bristle cover and clip on a cloth. Change the cloth as it becomes soiled. When cleaning very dirty surfaces pre-spray the cloth with Stain Shocker.

Dust collecting on your collectables?

Page 25: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

You’ve just picked up a steam cleaner, not a scrub brush so

don’t push and scrub hard - let the machine do the work.

The tips of the bristles are more effective than the sides.

Page 26: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

Who else do you know who needs a Sargent because they have lots of tile, they take immaculate care of their sports equipment, their car, or their boat?

2” STAINLESS STEEL BRUSH- Restaurants- Commercial BBQ grills & Ovens- Oil spots on driveways- Paint spills on cement

These bristles are sharp and will be hot after you’ve steamed. Wrap them with a cloth as you remove them.

1” STAINLESS STEEL BRUSH- Tile grout (use extreme CAUTION)- Oven racks, corners and edges- BBQ gill racks- Grates- Drip pans

These bristles are cut steel and are designed to scratch away debris so

use on totally scratch resistant surfaces ONLY.

STAIN SHOCKERApply STAIN SHOCKER to extra dirty surfaces to enhance the steam power.

Pre-spot really soiled textiles •carpet•upholstery• laundry stains•pet stains

*Hint- Apply STAIN SHOCKER to your cloth rather than the surface. You’ll eliminate drips and streaks especially on walls and upholstery.

Page 30: BRZ2 Instruction Manual

THAT ORANGE STUFFTHAT ORANGE STUFF is a slightly grainy paste made from orange oil and silica flour. Use it in place of scouring pastes or powders.

Squirt a bit on a power pad and gently rub scratch resistant surfaces to soften the minerals

•showers & tubs•sinks & faucets•glass

Remember: You only need a tiny bit of paste when you add steam.

TUB N TILE Removes hard water spots that don’t melt in the steam. It’s made from sugar cane, not a harsh chemicals so it’s easy on you and your tile, fiberglass, formica, stainless, chrome, porcelain, glass and plastics *.

Spray it on your brush or power padto avoid a sticky overspray. Do notlet it dry on the surface.

* Avoid natural stone

Dilute it with water in the foaming spray bottle.
