OVERALL THOUGHTS
We know Dynapac and Atlas Copco service and support “‘Best paver’ based on all we know about paving.” First impression was, why couldn’t others do this. We know this thing is bulletproof and will lay asphalt everyday – in
extreme conditions
Teaching is no problem, maybe an hour and the operators were comfortable
Comes down to costs – 40 trucks lined up, 40 tons of asphalt – the paver has to work- this one works.
Common parts and components Rideability is unbelievable – fantastic drive – smooth and NO
segregation Setup for Topcon, sonic sensors Moba controls: everything is
independent. Massive hopper – no dead spots
HOW DID THEY (DYNAPAC) LISTEN
Just has to work…period Three most important things we needed in a
paver…Reliability, reliability, reliability Atlas Copco/Dynapac is very good at
understanding the importance of primary equipment … a mine doesn’t work without a drill, road isn’t paved without a paver.
FOOL ME ONCE…
We worked on another paver launch with a different manufacturer – without success.
Engineers came to us during design process and during the prototype demos, we identified changes needed … Dynapacallowed us to make those changes.
Dynapac said, “Find the weak points.”
THIS TIME WITH DYNAPAC…
KEY ADVANTAGES
Outboard auger – no segregation or shadow Not over done on electronics – dual control
computer – relays and fuses Commonality in many components Oversized and reversible conveyor slats Locally sourced components Drive system walks over anything – runs smooth Visibility - see trucks better, see ground workers better, see
flow of material Service – access “extremely cool” Amazing smoke eater Excess cooling capacity Excellent maneuverability
