Hello and thank you for expressing an interest in studying Drama at sixth form level.

Drama 6th Form Entrance ProjectThe course we currently offer is a BTEC Level 3 with is the exact equivalent of an a level and accepted by all main universities,
During this course you will study 4 units
Unit 1 focuses on the independent research and study of 2 theatre practitioners and is an external written exam
Unit 2 focusses on staging a script extract in a chosen style and is internally assessed through written and practical coursework
Unit 3 focusses on devising your own work in response to a stimulus and is assessed externally through a practical and written exam
Unit 19 focusses on comparing and contrasting practitioner’s approaches and then using this knowledge to stage a scripted or devised performance showing knowledge of your chosen styles.
As you can see from above subject knowledge of practitioners and their approach to theatre is the foundation of the course.
The purpose of this project is to allow you to develop your independent research skills and broaden your knowledge of practitioners that you will explore during the course.
