Placket Shirt ManufacturingSet Collar and Tape in One OperationDESCRIPTIONA pneumatically controlled collar taping folder designed to shift to theleft to insert the tape under the presser foot. Upon signal, the foldershifts to the right to allow the tape to be cut by the edge trimming knife.The tape does not extend to the edge of the placket on either end.Therefore, when the placket is turned, there is no bulk or additionalthickness. This improves the overall appearance and reduces problemsin the buttonhole and button sew operations.

OPERATIONThe collar is aligned to the shirt body. The placket is folded over theleading edge of the collar and placed under the foot. The pieces aresewn approximately 1/2” and a touch of the knee switch shifts thefolder to the left and taping starts. As the trailing edge of the collarnears the machine, the operator folds the placket over the collar andtouches the knee switch. At this point the folder shifts to the right andthe tape is cut by the edge trimming knife.

Estopermite que la cinta de despliegue no se extienda hasta los extremosde la pechera. Esto evita bultos en esa area dándole mejor apariencia ala camiseta y reduciendo los problemas en las operaciones deojales y botones.

OPERACIÓNEl cuello se empareja con el cuerpo de la camiseta. La pechera seposiciona sobre el extremo del cuello y se coloca debajo delprensatelas. Se cose aproximadamente 1/2” y con la rodilla se activa elinterruptor para traer al plegador hacia la izquierda para comenzar acoser la cinta de depliegue. Cuando se vá llegando al otro extremo delcuello, la operadora posiciona la pechera sobre el cuello y activa elinterruptor de la rodilla. Esto hace que el plegador de la cinta dedespliegue se mueva hacia la derecha y esta sea recortada por lacortadora de bordes.
