Brooks Bros timber cladding is an environmentally sustainable, low carbon,thermally efficient and aesthetically pleasing material that provides an effectivedecorative covering for both exterior building facades and interiors.

It is supplied mainly to BS1186 Part 3:1990 standard from responsible sources, is either FSC®, PEFC or CSA certifiedand is purchased in line with the Government Timber Procurement Policy - CPET. We also work closely with organisations like BREEAM®and Zero Carbon Hub, toachieve their sustainability initiatives.

Brooks Bros timber cladding is available in a variety of hardwood and softwood species, standard profile patternsand dimensions, is easy to fix and can be pre-finished withcoatings, lacquers and stains, preservative and fire retardanttreatments.

Bespoke, one-off profiles, non-standard dimensions and timber species not commonly available can be sourced andtailored to suit customers’ own particular requirements.

Brooks Bros also works closely with reputable timber andconstruction industry bodies to ensure appropriate detailingand fixing suggestions are provided.

I PROJECTWestfield Stratford City Shopping Centre (adjacent to the London Olympic Park)

Brooks Bros supplied some 11,000 metres of 90 x 18mm FSC certified European Oak Veneered MDF paneling, finished with fire protective lacquer to meet euro class B standards. This features on the walls and ceiling throughout the Great Eastern Market Food Hall.

Carnforth High School Community Sports Centre

Carnforth High School opened its brand new Sports Centre in September2011. With a sports hall, dance studio and fitness suite these facilities are now available for use by the local community. Brooks Bros supplied morethan 500m2 of PEFC certified, untreated and kiln dried Western Red Cedarmachined to half lap profile, 25mm thick x 200mm wide.

Brooks Bros timber cladding is available with anopaque or translucent pre-finish (work done in our own workshops using mainly the Morrells range ofOmnia products). Finishes include: • A preservative treatment that protects against rot and fungal attack and meets BSEN335 Use Classes 2,3 & 4 requirements

• An ultra-clear, high performance surface coating that allow the timber to breathe, protects the structure of the wood and actively controls discolouration

• A choice of ultra-smooth, wood stain finishes (Antique Pine, Dark Mahogany, Natural Mahogany, Jacobean, Dark Oak, Light Oak, Rosewood, Teak and Walnut).

Other recommended finishes include preservative treatments to BS8417: 2003 and fire retardants coatingsto BS476: 1997, Parts 6 & 7 or EN13501-1 ClassificationDocumentation Euroclass C or B, using Non Com, Dricon and Fire Pro branded products.

New Micronised Timberand BrooksShadesMicronised TimberTM is wood that is pressure treated with arevolutionary new wood preservative from leading technologysupplier Osmose, that adds a fresher and more naturally attractive colour option to Brooks Bros’ cladding portfolio.

The Osmose MicroProTM system utilises ‘micronising’ technologythat grinds copper particles so small that they can penetrate intothe wood in solid form offering improved corrosion protection(particularly important for exterior applications) and better stainand paint finishing. It also has third party Environmental Certifications (including GreenGuard®Children and Schools Certification), Environmentally Preferable Product Certificationand is FSC® and/or PEFC Certified.

BrooksShades is acolour pigment systemoffering mainly popularbrown and greenshades.

Brooks Bros’ own unique, Classic Secret FixClip System is the ideal solution for fixing horizontal and vertical cladding. It’s suitablefor use with dense timbers and pre-finished /coated profiles and is manufactured and supplied to order by Brooks Bros to fit various board widths.

Shingles and ShakesShingles and Shakes are used in both wall and roof applications.Treated or untreated they both offer an excellent low carbon footprint. Where they differ is in how they are manufactured: a Shingle is made by sawing a block of wood on both sides, to give a relatively smooth face and back, where a Shake is hand split alongthe natural grain of the wood then re-sawn, to give a textured faceand smooth back. Both offer a high degree of thermal insulation, are light to transport and easy to install.

Louvre BladesBrooks Bros louvre blades are used in Bris Soleil and other solar shadingdevices as a popular way of controlling solar gain and adding stylish features to a building. They offer wind and climate control, let thebreeze in and, at the same time, create a privacy screen. They can bepre-finished like all Brooks Bros cladding profiles. Fixed or electricallyoperated they are available in a variety of profiles and sizes.
