2014
the mill
Brookite have been manufacturing kites and outdoor toys for over 100 years. The company are constantly updating and adding to the ranges but still have the basic kite shapes that were the original mainstay of Brookite in 1907 when the company was founded by the Brooke Brothers.
They, like everyone else were swept along in the raging enthusiasm for aviation and all things flight related. In 1910 it was a Brookite kite that took an aerial aloft from SS Mafalda in the South Atlantic Ocean enabling radio pioneer, Guglielmo Marconi to make the first ever transatlantic radio message spanning over 6000 miles.
With this heritage, the very reason for the company’s longevity has been the ability to adapt to changing trends and to be constantly innovative with new designs, shapes, materials and the more challenging flying techniques that are demanded by current kite flyers and adrenalin junkies!
Today this family business continues to thrive from a converted corn mill based in Devon, supplying kites and toys to outlets all over the world. Every product leaving the factory is a quality item, supplied at a sensible price and is a part of all the experience gained in over a century of kite making.

We may have changed the size of the catalogue but all the favourites – both old and new are hidden amongst the pages.
Watch out for the new Birds of Prey, featuring a Red Kite and a Grey Owl. These realistic looking birds are easy to fly and great fun. Featuring a high quality print, they come packed in a smart carry bag and are sure to be flying off the shelves!
The traditional range of sailing boats have been updated with printed sails and pirate logos. These boats have always been good sellers and we are hoping that these new kids on the block will be the same.
Also new for 2014 are a range of Venom skateboard accessories featuring wheels, bearings, grip tape amongst other miscellany. These will complement the skateboards and are all of high quality. In the Navir range there is a new UFO Lighting Gyroscope - with in built coloured LEDs.
