Broken Down Editing Stages
DIGIPAC
1ST PANEL•Firstly we had to choose our favourite picture that we wanted to use as our front cover and our advert. This image we decided on: •We then uploaded the image to Photoshop•Remove the green background changing it to white as we planned.•We found it really difficult to edit/remove the green around the hair so we had to change the brightness.
•After this we changed the colour gradient, decreasing the saturation and making sure there was continuity throughout all 4 panels as we wanted a more dull effect in comparison to the original images.
•After this added text to the top of the design with the artists name and the title of the song.
We then moved onto the 4th panel (Back)• From the first digipac we had a clear understanding of the design we
wanted with some minor adjustments. We used the same image before which we had edited to make the background white, allowing us to carry continuity throughout the front and the back panels.
• We then used the same colour and text to add the albums playlist on the back (we used Emma Louise's real playlist to make it more realistic)
• After this we added Emma Louise's official record label "French kiss" into the bottom left hand corner.
• Lastly for this panel we added a Barcode into the top left hand corner, again giving the album a professional appeal.
• Also added Emma Louise's official website address
• Inserted Copy right information
2ND PANEL
• After this we then made our 2nd panel.• Through Target audience we found that it would be much preferred to
have the lyrics across the whole panel instead of in a circle.• Therefore, we inserted a text textbox which covered the whole panel
and using the same colour and text typed the lyrics to the song repeatedly, giving a minimalistic effect.
3RD PANEL
• Moving onto our last panel to edit we already knew that we wanted to use a similar design as our previous digipac.• Using the background form our 4th panel we used a circle tool on
Photoshop to crop the image into a circle.• We then used this tool again to cut out a smaller circle in the middle to
ensure the audience could tell this is where the CD would go in the digipac - like a real album design.• To ensure the circles were directly incline we used the dimensions on
Photoshop before cropping the image.
