Lisa Rorich from Durban, and Raewyn Hayhoe of Cape Town were
able to participate in conceiving and creating a seamless blend of
sophisticated urban living spaces with an opulent hotel look and feel.
They have achieved a sense of enduring luxury meets cosmopolitan
urban sanctuary.
The Duke identity sets the tone for this masculine yet muted palette of
trending charcoal, moody greens and hints of bronze. Bespoke window
box cushioned seats and ribbed glass screens capture the allure of a plush
apartment. Floor to ceiling windows play a powerful and lifting role, celebrating
the burnished concrete floors throughout.
Designer, Danelle de Kock and team sourced products locally and globally to
introduce warmth and materiality with rich timber, stone elements, forged metal detail
and parisian ribbed glass. Soothing textures and tonality are at play with the hand-crafted
polished concrete floors, which in many ways steal the show.
The result; a bold design curation that expresses authenticity and character, with composed
sophistication and comfort resonating at its core.
