FAMILY FUN FAIRLoomis Chaffee’s 100th birthday is a celebration for all ages! Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to the Family Fun Fair from 1-5 p.m. on the softball and baseball fields. Jump in a bounce house, race through a vertical obstacle course, get your face painted, and so much more!

DINNER AND DANCING ON THE GRUBBS QUADRANGLESchool chef Peter Daigle is hard at work planning a three-course buffet menu to celebrate Loomis Chaffee’s birthday! Enjoy dinner with friends and family then dance to the sounds of Live Radio under the big tent on Grubbs Quad.

FIREWORKS BY GRUCCIThe Centennial Celebration will close with a spectacular display of state-of-the-art fireworks by the world record holder for the largest fireworks display, Fireworks by Grucci.

CENTENNIAL HISTORY AUTHORS RECEPTIONMeet John Ratté, Karen Parsons, and authors of essays appearing in the “Many Voices” section of the Centennial book during a reception in the Katharine Brush Library from 2–3 p.m. The book, Cherished Hopes and Honorable Ambition: A Centennial History of The Loomis Chaffee School, written and edited by John and Karen, will be on sale in the bookstore during the day.

DEDICATION OF RICHMOND HALLHelp celebrate the dedication of the school’s newest dormitory in honor of Howard S. Richmond ’35. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Richmond Hall; everyone is invited.

MEET RENOWNED 3D ARTIST JOE HILL ’93Joe Hill ’93 will spend the week before the Centennial Celebration as a visiting artist in Richmond Art Center’s Mercy Gallery creating a 3D, optical-illusion work of art in honor of the school’s first 100 years. Meet Joe from 2:30–3:30 p.m. and marvel at the interactive work that will take over the gallery; all visitors are welcome. To see examples of Joe’s work, visit joehill-art.com.

FOOTBALL HALFTIME AND POSTGAME SHOWSIn celebration of our Centennial, we invite everyone to gather at Pratt Field for the football game halftime show celebrating “Athletics through the Years.” Following the game, the Loomis Chaffee Dance Companies will present a brief postgame show, “Dances through the Century.”

CENTENNIAL CEREMONY AT THE HOMESTEADImmediately following the football postgame show, all are invited to parade to the Homestead for a brief Centennial Ceremony to mark this special moment in the history of The Loomis Institute.
