FEDERATION OF INDIAN GRANITE AND STONE INDUSTRY

(FIGSI)

For over 33 years now, the All India Granites & Stone Association is the only All India Registered Body, serving India's Natural Stone

stTrade & Industry. On 1 of April 2014, the Association was renamed as Federation of Indian Granite and Natural Stone Industry.

Chief objective of the Federation being Promotion of the Natural Stone Industries, which come under the category of Ornamental or Decorative building stones like Granites, Marbles, Sandstones, Slates, Quartzite etc., and ancillary and auxiliary Industries of Machinery, Tools, Abrasives, Consumables related to Stone Industries and conduct Conferences, Workshops on each and every aspect of Stone Industry. With the progress of Industry, a need was felt to organize International Stone Fairs as early as 1985/86.

FIGSI is in the process of establishing R & D Training Center for the benefit of the Indian Natural Stone industry and as a first step has already purchased an area of about 32 acres near Hosur. The Federation is working hard to make this training center as world class center with all the latest technology and facility.

showcasing the unique range of country's colorful, eye-catching natural stones and a platform that helps in demonstrating the capabilities, capacity and the most modern and latest techniques in the craft of stone working.

STONA 2018 is being organised by Federation of Indian Granite and Stone Industry – FIGSI. The aim of STONA 2018 is to give the natural stone industry in India a significant growth opportunity with higher visibility, a professional oriented visitor profile and extremely efficient business development modules.

STONA enjoys participation by the who's who of the industry, both national and international, as exhibitors and visitors. The International Granites & Stone Fair - STONA found its existence in the year 1987 and since then it is one of the most preferred platforms in the stone and granite related industry. Being the first of its kind exhibition in Asia, STONA is the pioneer in this field and is a perfect podium that showcases the best in the industry and connects directly with the natural stone trade and industry. STONA is well recognized by the Stone Industry of the world and now it stands one among the four largest International Stone Fairs conducted in the world after Verona, Izmir and Xiamen .

STONA serves as a great single window that projects India's natural stones, products & the creative ability to make and supply anything to everything. rd th thFrom 3 to 6 February 2016, the Federation conducted the 12 International Granite Stone fair which was visited by more than 30,000 visitors from India and Abroad. Exhibitors from all over India and abroad participated in the fair and 540 exhibitors participated in the fair out of which 170 were overseas participants. It has been reported by majority of the exhibitors that they were able to get good business.

During the Fair, two concurrent seminars were held one on geological aspects of Stone quarrying and another on Architecture. Both the seminars were very educative to the industry.

The Exports from India was at Rs. 50 crores during 1987 when the first ever STONA was held which has crossed 12,000 crores after STONA 2014 fair. We are hopeful after the STONA 2016 fair the figure may touch Rs. 14,000 crores by end of March 2016. Following graphs shows the growth of the export after each STONA fairs.
