Volcanic Westman Isles is an ideal place to bicycle. After a

drive and a short ferry ride to the main island Heimaey, we

get on our bikes and pedal to view its main attractions such

as, Pompeii of the North, puffin colonies in summer, Helgafell

volcano, lavafield from 1973, half collapsed houses due to the

lava flow and more!

We bicycle mostly on level paved terrain, but for some of the

views, we need to climb small hills.

Classic Reykjavik Golden Circle & Bike

Coast of ReykjavikExperience Iceland’s evening sun from a bicycle saddle. Join

us on a trip along Reykjavik’s coast, which is the perfect way

to spend a summer’s night in town. The route usually in-

cludes but is not limited to the following places: Perlan area,

Nautholsvik thermal beach, Seltjarnarnes peninsula and bird

sanctuary, Grotta tidal island and lighthouse.

18 km, 2.5 hours, medium difficulty, ISK 4,000

See all three highlights of the south west of Iceland: Geysir

geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir National

Park – from a bike saddle.

We travel in a van with a bike trailer to Gullfoss waterfall,

where we start our first ride of the day. We then visit Geysir

geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park, which is listed

on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. We spend a good

hour cycling in the national park before returning to Reykja-

vik around 8 PM.

25 km (bicycling), 7 hours, medium difficulty, ISK 16,000
