The WAP portfolio features NewNet at IP architecture and optionalpeer-to-peer communication for fast handoffs and low latency. Thisallows Communication Service Providers to deploy a solution with atruly seamless, rich media experience for the end-user that is alsooptimized for mobility.

The WAP portfolio reduces costs by using only a simple ber connec -tion between the RF antenna head and the base control unit. NewNet Connectivity Service NetworkNewnet Connectivity Service Network (CSN) is at the core of theWiMAX network architecture. It provides control and managementfor the ASN-GW and subscribers with services such as AAA, Policy,and DHCP/DNS/NTP servers.

The placement of the CSN can be co-located with the ASN or geo-graphically separated from it. The CSN can also be deployed geo-

graphically redundant.

DNS/DHCP/NTPThe Domain Name Server (DNS) is responsible for translatingdomain names into IP addresses. The Dynamic Host congurationProtocol (DHCP) Server is responsible for assigning dynamic IPaddress to devices on a network.
