    CCNA Discovery Overview

Maps to everyday experiences with networks and covers keynetworking concepts based on the types of practical networkenvironments students may encounter

From small office and home office (SOHO) networking to more complexenterprise and theoretical networking models later in the curriculum

Evolves from directed to open-ended labs as students progressthrough the curricula; soft skills and building a design portfolio areemphasized in last semester

Provides general theory; and offers a career-oriented approachto learning networking

Includes embedded e-doing, which applies the principle thatpeople learn best by interacting with computer-based activities

Interactive learning promotes the exploration of networking conceptsand experimentation

Tools such as Packet Tracer and Flash-based activities help students developa greater understanding of networking technologies

Introduces advanced technologies such as voice, video, wireless, and security

    Instructor Feedback

It Is greatmuch better than the

3.0/3.1; Lots of good informationthat Is explained well. There arealso a lot of good resources.

It Is exciting, engaging, and doesa fantastic job in delivering the

necessary content to meet thenew CCNA objectives as well asteaching how to design, build, andmaintain networks.

Its exciting to see a course that willnot turn off the students because of

the level of difficulty, but will insteadmake them think about their currentsetups at home and in school, andenjoin them to explore further anddeeper into the technology.

This course Is relatively easy tounderstand, less lecture time Is

needed and more time can beallocated for actual practice/labs.
