By the age of eight, he was drawing and paintingwith anything he could get his hands on:watercolors, pen and ink, and fingerpainting.

In 1979, Britto had his first art show.Despite having sold many paintings, Britto stillwas not not sure he could be successful asan artist.

Britto entered law school in 1979. He soonrealized he could not continue down this path. Hesold his car and headed to Europe to study andpaint.

In 1987, Britto visited some friends in Florida. Soon afterhe decided to open his own studio.
