W hether it is alpine, cross-country, snowmobiling, cat or Heli-skiing you are seeking, the BC Rockies region

abounds in winter activities.

Conditions permitting most resorts open in early December each year. Chose from the resorts of Red Mountain at Ross-land or Whitewater Ski area near Nelson, both close to the border and known for their incredible snow. Red offers 1200 acres of famous BC Rockies powder at two great mountains and over 83 runs. Whitewater, situated 13 km south of Nelson in the Ymir Mountains, has deep bowls and glades, groomed runs, chutes and backcountry terrain and a base elevation of 5,400 ft.

Whistler and Blackcomb in the Coast Mountains is 100km (60m) from Vancouver and one of the very best four seasons destinations in North America. Rising up 1,609m (5,280ft) from the valley, the two mountains offer more than 7,000 acres of spectacular mountain terrain for skiers, snowboarders, bikers, hikers and sight seers.

Cypress Bowl is located 12 km (7.5 miles) off of the Trans Canada Highway #1 in West Vancouver. Night skiing, snow-boarding, extensive cross-country ski trails, a day lodge, ski school, ski shop and rentals, restaurants and pubs are just some of the hill’s attractions. Season: late November to late April.

Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver offers the visitor night skiing, a day lodge, 2 mid-mountain huts, a ski shop and rent-als, a ski school, restaurants and pubs, helicopter tours, sleigh rides and a 91.5 m (300 ft) snowboard pipe and terrain park. Season: late November to mid-April

Hemlock Valley, near Agassiz in the Fraser Valley offers visitor services such as night skiing, cross country ski trails, snow-boarding facilities, a ski shop and rentals, a ski school, day care, on-mountain accommodation, hot tub/jacuzzi/sauna, res-taurants and pubs.
