Wills Memorial Building Venue Guide
Great Hall
If you are planning a conference, dinner or exhibition on grand proportions, few venues can match the Wills Memorial Building for style, location and size.
Great Hall
Offers a space of 405 square metres.
The Great Hall will provide a grand location for Lunch and Refreshments served throughout the day.
Poster boards will be displayed in this area so delegates can view throughout the conference.
Few venues can offer a conference backdrop that can rival the Wills Memorial Building for style, elegance and panache. It is also one of the biggest venues you’ll find offering a variety of meeting rooms. Standing tall above the University complex at the top of Park Street this ornately carved neo-gothic treasure is a true Bristol icon and makes a dramatic and inspiring venue. Delegates will be awed as soon as you enter the building. A sweeping double stone staircase and carved stone vaulted ceiling leads to the impressive Great Hall, and other splendid rooms, all with acres of carved oak, panelled walls and lead windows.

Wills Memorial Building Tower Tours
Officially opened in 1925 by King George V and Queen Mary, the Wills Memorial Building houses the University’s School of Law and the School of Earth Sciences. Standing tall above the University complex at the top of Park Street, this ornately carved neo-gothic treasure is a true Bristol icon and makes a dramatic and inspiring venue.
As you enter the building, take note of the sweeping double stone staircase and carved stone vaulted ceiling, leading to the impressive Great Hall and Reception Room, with carved oak panelled walls and lead windows. The views of the city of Bristol from the top of Wills Tower, some 68 metres above Park Street are amazing. It is definitely worth the effort of climbing up the narrow, spiral staircases with a total of 345 steps.
We have arranged dedicated tower tours (lasting 30 minutes) to be held during the lunch breaks, so you
can see behind the grand façade and experience the splendour of the building.
The tour guides give a unique insight into the history of the building and all profits raised are donated to
Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal for the Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Please book your place at Registration and view the safety information
