Lee Garrett has been lauded as the UK’s leading Skin Guru in lifestyle magazines and the Sunday supplements. His specialist skills, combined with his discreet manner and warm personality have made him the go-to skin expert for celebrities and even royalty from around the globe.
Perhaps even more importantly his understanding of the skin and bespoke treatments has made him one of the most renowned and well respected practitioners among his peers within the aesthetic beauty industry. Lee has been on Harley Street since 2003. Before starting his own clinic, he headed up the SKIN division at Freedomhealth and prior to that worked within the hair and beauty industry for 15 years where, he says, he acquired his aesthetic eye.
Lee has a degree in Adult Nursing and is fully qualified as a Staff Nurse and an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner.

Lee has sat on the Steering Committee for the Aesthetic Nurses Forum, which was part of Royal College of Nursing. Lee is also a UK moderator for Sciton Laser Technology, a UK Ambassador for Ultherapy, and is involved in educational roadshows for Q-Med - the makers of Restylane products.
During the last 8 years, Lee has been a UK trainer and advisor for Allergan the makers of Juvéderm® and botulinum toxin. Lee not only instructs other medical professionals on how to use dermal fillers and botulinum toxin, he is often the point of contact for fellow professionals for expert advice.
Lee is frequently called upon by national media to give his expert opinion. He can regularly be seen in Men’s Health, the Daily Mail and leading lifestyle magazines and is the resident skin and beauty expert on The Wedding Site.

Séan qualified from University College London. He has very wide experience working in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, accident emergency medicine and general medicine.
He set up Freedomhealth in 1997 and this small Harley Street private practice has grown exponentially.
Séan has worked with Lee since 2002 and has brought with him more than 20 years of experience in medicine, precision skills in aesthetics and also a shared conviction with his colleagues that a very personal approach is the key to a good doctor-patient relationship.

As we get older we start to reabsorb our bone which means our skulls are shrinking and we end having loose hanging skin. Also, to add salt to the wounds, we lose 1% of collagen for each year we age, along with loss of elasticity and hyaluronic acid. Fat is also lost from the face and sometimes redistributed. As we age we also start to notice large pores appearing, tiny red veins pop up to the surface and wrinkles form.
While our ancestors could do little about it, these days we have many options open to us which may not stop the hands of time, but can certainly slow down the effects.

We offer a number of treatments that can rejuvenate ageing skin. One option is laser resurfacing which, as well as reducing wrinkles, can improve skin irregularities, such as pigment spots, blemishes and acne scars.
At The Garrett Clinic we use the Sciton PROFILE™ laser. A qualified medical practitioner will assess your suitability for treatment and also advise you about any risks.
Another popular option is Ultherapy, a highly-effective, non-invasive lift using ultrasound all around the face, eyes area, chin and neck.
We also offer two treatments to tighten loose skin, Pellevé or Thermage. Both of these treatments work on the same principle that controlled heating of the skin causes the collagen fibres deep in the skin to contract and tighten.

FINE LINES AND WRINKLESAGEING SKIN

These nose to mouth lines are called nasolabial folds and the drooping corners of the mouth are oral commissures.
Both of these are caused by you losing volume on your cheeks causing your skin to hang down. We can correct this using Juvéderm® Volift® or Volbella® which are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.
Using these to replace the lost padding or volume in these areas can last up to 15 months. The treatments are very safe and can be dissolved if need be. They are also virtually painless because they contain anaesthetic.

These are your basic frown lines, literally caused by frowning and are caused by a collagen break down. The lines can look very deep and there is really only one way to tackle them.
Firstly, we would do a stretch test to see if your lines disappear. If they do, then we would use botulinum toxin to relax the specific muscles that are responsible for you frowning. The lines will be instantly reduced and the effect can last for up to four months.
For stubborn lines which do not disappear in the stretch test we would recommend a combination of botulinum toxin and dermal filler. We use Juvéderm® which is a hyaluronic acid (HA) and very safe. The results can last up to one year.

Brown spots are caused by over exposure of skin to the sun. This causes an imbalance with our pigmentation creating these darker, or hyper-pigmented areas.
We treat these with a very safe light called Broadband Light (BBL) which is a method of photorejuvenation. During the treatment the light is targeted to and absorbed by the brown spots. These areas then form crust which will fall off as the underneath skin heals. Usually this takes about 10 days. In some cases, depending on skin type and severity, several treatments may be needed.

We use Juvéderm® Volift® and Volbella® to plump out thin, ageing lips. These are dermal fillers, which are made from hyaluronic acid.
Imagine that your lips are like sponges and have lost moisture. When injected with hyaluronic acid the moisture is replaced and they re-inflate, just like placing a dry sponge in water.
In our expert hands, lips can be given a very natural, fuller look which also improves the “barcode” lines on the top of your lip.

Chemical peels could be the answer to these problems by sloughing off dead skin cells and stimulating the re-growth of new, fresh skin.
We would recommend a course of carefully designed treatments to suit individual skin types and concerns. The chemical peels we use are prescription-only Obagi Skin Systems which is a leading name in skin rejuvenation.

This is an area which responds extremely well to the high frequency ultrasound treatment we carry out called Ultherapy. We treat at three levels in the skin which gives us a great result with no recovery time. You only need one session and once the session is completed results will take up to 6 months to be fully seen.

Before any treatment is undertaken, you will be made fully aware of each stage of the treatment, recovery and follow-up period.
Remember to write down beforehand any questions you may have about the procedure as clients often forget in the excitement of undergoing a treatment.
Once you are totally relaxed and happy about proceeding, we will carry out the agreed treatment.
At this consultation we will discuss your expectations and suggest which treatment or combination of treatments would be best for you, depending on your skin type and the severity of your problem. We carry out computerised skin analysis and patch tests depending on which treatment is agreed on.
This analysis allows us to really personalise your treatments. We may also take “before” photos, for you to really appreciate the improvements we make.
The consultation will either be with clinic founder Lee Garrett, a GP or dermatologist associate of the practice.

Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared procedure to non-invasively lift the eyebrow, neck and under-chin areas. It uses safe, time-tested ultrasound energy to lift skin above the eyebrow, on the neck, and under the chin, as well as improving décolletage lines and wrinkles. It achieves this by generating collagen below the skin.
Ultrasound waves penetrate deep into layers of the tissue where normally only surgery could reach to attain such a lifting result. It is the only treatment that can specifically target the deep foundation/scaffold below the skin without invasive surgery.
This ultrasound energy initiates the body’s natural response in these deep tissue areas to stimulate the growth of fresh, new collagen and strengthen weak collagen.
Some clients have reported results lasting two years or longer based upon an individual’s own collagen production and natural ageing process.
Botulinum toxin is basically a muscle relaxant containing tiny amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, clostridium botulinum.
When injected strategically by a professional, using a disposable needle, it temporarily relaxes the muscle which causes frown lines or wrinkles, thus smoothing out the skin’s appearance.

A course of short, skin tightening Pellevé or Thermage treatments can give you tighter, fresher, and younger looking skin. We offer both at The Garrett Clinic.
These treatments work on the same principle that controlled heating of the skin causes the collagen fibres deep in the skin to contract and tighten. This then creates an immediate tightening effect on the skin. The heat also stimulates collagen production, which means that over the following weeks new collagen is created, resulting in a firmer, and more youthful skin appearance.

The Garrett Clinic offers a next generation of dermal fillers, which are smoother, more comfortable and natural looking when compared to other products. The dermal filler range by Juvéderm® is known as the Vycross® range and has been designed to last longer and create a natural-looking end result.
Juvéderm® is a specially formulated hyaluronic acid facial filler which is smooth and long lasting. During the treatment the gel is injected under the skin at key points using a fine needle. The gel then gently fills facial lines and wrinkles adding subtle volume.
The latest innovation is Juvéderm® Volift® with lidocaine, which delivers a natural look and feel and is excellent for smoothing nasolabial folds. Juvéderm® Volift® with lidocaine has an estimated duration of 15 months.

The Obagi Nu-Derm System helps to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out, reversing the effects of ageing and sun damaged skin. At its core are two prescription-only creams. One fades sun spots in a matter of weeks, whilst the second stimulates collagen production, leading to smoother, stronger skin. The “peel” refers to the low concentration of the chemical trichloroacetic acid in the products.
The principle behind Nu-Derm is to work at the cellular level to improve skin cell function. Potent products are used to penetrate all layers of the skin and slough away dead unattractive skin. Damaged skin cells are thereby retrained to function normally resulting in marked skin renewal and skin improvement.
