Bring Books for GLC Schools / HLIS Library to Warabung in St. Louis on July 5 and 6, 2019 MARCH 2019 LIKLIK TOK SPECIAL This special edition of Liklik Tok comes to you to report that PNGMS has adopted a project to help the schools of the Gutnius Lutheran Church of PNG with new and used printed resources, and especially to help Highlands Lutheran International School (HLIS) restore the book resources in the library that was burned in October of 2018. We would like to ask you to be a part of collecting and gifting appropriate books to HLIS by bringing them to the Warabung on July 5-6, 2019. By now as members and friends of PNGMS you have all received the February PNGMS Liklik Tok Newsletter announcing the Warabung, as well as a letter of invitation to the bung, complete with a registration form with options for accommodation and “T” shirt information. Please be sure to register soon by sending your form and check to Todd Luedtke, 3317 E. 500 th Ave. Mason, Illinois 62443. The deadline for reservations for special-rate Concordia Seminary dormitory rooms is March 31, after which the bung registration fee goes from $65 to $75 per person. The big news that comes to you in this special edition of the newsletter is a plea to bring with you books that we can ship to GLC schools and to HLIS to restore the library at the school. You may, for example, have books from your personal library that you can donate, or you may think to visit the book section of a thrift store and purchase appropriate books. It might be possible that a Lutheran elementary school or high school near you would be willing to donate books to send. The option is also open to order and purchase new books for shipment. GLC schools are in dire need of Christian Education resources in particular, and HLIS would benefit greatly from resource books such as sets of encyclopedias or Bible resources for grades preschool through 12, and/or fiction books for the same age groups. All of the resources in the former HLIS library were destroyed by fire, so any donations of books will help. Included in this newsletter are lists of categories and specific book suggestions from the HLIS librarian, Lucy, and from Dr, Martin Dicke, currently working in PNG. PNGMS has initiated a partnership with Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk, NE for packing and shipping a whole container of books to the GLC with the aim of sending the shipment early in August 2019. Todd and Jan Luedtke will be taking the donated books from the bung to Norfolk and then helping to sort and pack the container for shipment. You can see if there is to be an entire container that there will be room for thousands of books. Please be generous. We hope to see many of you at the Warabung, which will be a time of fellowship as well as worship as participants meet and greet and renew friendships and simultaneously hear any number of presentations about the current joys and challenges of the ministry in PNG with the GLC from Ralls, Schaches and Dickes. Let us return and visit the Brothers ... where we proclaimed the Word of the Lord and see how they are doing. Acts 15:36

MARCH2019LIKLIKTOKSPECIAL

This special edition of Liklik Tok comes to you to report that PNGMS has adopted a project to help the schools of the Gutnius Lutheran Church of PNG with new and used printed resources, and especially to help Highlands Lutheran International School (HLIS) restore the book resources in the library that was burned in October of 2018.

500th Ave.

As we prepare for the upcoming “bung” in St. Louis, you may remember the bung experiences of the past, beginning in the late 1990’s. Above is a picture of the June 26-27,

2013 “Bung Wantaim” in Monroe, Washington. Below is a picture of the bung in 2015 in Peoria, Illinois. It is these moments of fellowship and joy that provide us with just a short glimpse of the

fellowship and joy to come when we will “bung wantaim” with all of our friends and all of God’s people in our heavenly kingdom with the King of Kings.

Fellowship and Joy Now and Eternally
