The O5 Clear Object sensors canreliably identify film, glass, PET plasticand transparent packaging. Standardsensors typically have too much excessgain and “burn” through the clearmaterial. Two housing styles are avail-able: the OJ Series and the O5 Series.

Features include:

• OJ sensors offer a low switchinghysteresis specifically for the detection of transparent objects.

• O5 sensors features a 2,000 Hz switching frequency for fast-movingapplications.

Color, Contrast and Clear Object Fiber Optic Systems

Some of the more complicatedapplications in assembly automationand packaging include identifying the color of objects and selecting the best color of contrast. ifm’s O5Series Color Sensors use RGB technol-ogy to identify objects by color anddetermine contrast colors.
