MOUNTING EXAMPLES

Mounting Required for all passenger car classes.

Number 2 or 4 units, for N3 vehicles*, max. 6 units.High beam to be switched on only if oncoming traffic is not dazzled.

Electrical CircuitThe high-beam headlamps may only be switched on either at the same time or in pairs. If two additional high-beam headlamps have been mounted, then no more than two pairs may be switched on at the same time. During the transition from low beam to high beam, at least 1 pair needs to be switched on for high beam. When the low beam is switched on, all high-beam headlamps have to be extinguished simultaneously.

Other Regulations The sum of the reference numbers of all the high-beam headlamps that are operational on the vehicle may not be greater than 100 .

* N3vehicles: for the transportation of goods with a permissible total weight of >12 t.

The reference number of all switched-on high-beam headlamps (always only in pairs) combined may not exceed 100.

Please note: mounting only permitted in pairs! No more than 4 high-beam headlamps may be on at any one time.

The LED Light Bar 470 Single Twin is classed as a dual headlamp. Combinations with other auxiliary driving lamps are also possible.

These examples show some of the many possible combinations. Please observe the valid national regulations. Vehicles with a total permitted weight of up to 12 metric tons may be fitted with a maximum of four auxiliary driving lamps. ECE Regulation No. 48 stipulates that a maximum of four high-beam headlamps (including those fitted as standard) may be on at the same time. The sum of the reference numbers of all the high-beam headlamps that are operational on the vehicle may not be greater than 100 .

LIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Lux is the unit used to measure illuminance. It specifies the luminous flux emanating from the light source that strikes a specific surface. For example, an office workplace should be illuminated with at least 500 lux, and the human eye can still read a newspaper without any problems at 1 lux. The values under the lux bar indicate where the corresponding illuminance is achieved on the light distribution diagrams.

Reference no. (Ref.)The reference number (Ref.) is a figure that applies to a high-beam headlamp. According to the ECE regulation, this reference number must not exceed the upper limit of 100 per vehicle. In this case, the two values of the standard high beam (left and right headlamp) are added to the values of other mounted high-beam headlamps. The value is entered on the lens of approved headlamps.
