BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Bridge:
A bridge is a structure built to span physical obstacles such as a water body, valley, or road, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacles.
Site selection:
Site should be geologically sound. At site , the river flow should be without
whirls and cross-current. At the site , there should be suitable high
banks above high flood level on each sides.
These should be no sharp curves in the approaches.
Avoidance of excessive under water construction work.
