Whether revitalizing an aging bridge or addressing the need for a new or recon-structed structure, TRC’s veteran bridge and structural engineers offer the exper-tise needed to undertake all phases of design for new, reconstructed or rehabili-tated structures throughout the country. Encompassing standard configurations that are supported on various foundation types, as well as those complicated by the need for joint-less design and or use of complex piers (i.e., very tall, hollow, etc.), the kinds of structures that are designed by our staff include:

- Arch bridges - Simple and multi-span steel

through-truss - Deck truss - Timber - Precast box beam / prestressed - I-beam - Steel box girder (including continuous

Related capabilities include:

• Design and location studies• Preliminary and final design for new

and replacement structures• Structure widening• Sheeting and shoring design• Emergency inspections and repairs• Substructure and superstructure

repair details• Seismic analysis and evaluation• Seismic retrofit strategies • Analysis of existing bridges for various

Why TRC?

• Significant depth of staffing resources facilitates resourcing of specialized expertise and additional manpower for projects throughout the country.

• Experience with all types of project delivery mechanisms including design-bid-build, design-build and public-private partnerships.

TRC provided final design services for the viaduct portion of the Bay Bridge Temporary Bypass Structure, a $230

million design-build project in San Francisco/Oakland, CA.

TRC is developing the plans for a major rehabilitation of this 12,000’ cantilever-style truss bridge carrying US 190 over

the Mississippi River at Baton Rouge, LA.

Two twin, curved plate girder bridges (2200’ and 1100’)

were designed by TRC through mountainous terrain as part of the WV Route 10 project in

West Virginia.

TRC designed this award-winning, $7.5 million bridge that carries US 76 over the Chattooga River through two

National Forests between South Carolina and Georgia.
