John G. Lake: A Man of Healing

This is the eighth book in our very popular series for children on the lives of the great gen-

erals of the faith. One such general was John G. Lake, an extraordinary man who was once a

wealthy businessman who gave everything up to follow God. As he did so, he learned that God

could use him in supernatural ways.

During his five years of ministry in South Africa, John Lake saw more than 100,000 people

come to the Lord and 625 churches were established. This book shares his life in very moving and

    compelling ways.

He established healing rooms, which are continuing to this day. In the city of Spokane,

Washington, many people were healed through the ministry of the healing rooms. This likely played

a large role in the United States governmental statistics that declared Spokane to be the healthiest

    city in America.

The reader will be amazed to see what God can do through the life of a single person who

is yielded to Him, as John Lake was. Children will be inspired to seek God more fully for them-

selves and to believe in His power to perform miracles. Like John Lake, they will want to show God

to people through love and godly living.

John Lakes grandson wrote, Grandfather had the power of God in his life because he was

utterly consumed with the prize: A closer walk with Jesus Christ and a better, clearer, more personal

understanding of the nature of God and the purpose of mans journey through this world. The re-

ward for his focus on the prize was the gift of healing he operated in so strongly. It was a good gift,

but his life goal was still not healing. His goal was still a closer walk with God.

God Is Again Preparing a Body for His Son

The war for the soul of the Church is a battle between the corporate expression

of lawlessness and the corporate expression of Christ within the Church. God is invading

His own house so that false ministries and wrong ways of thinking will be overthrown. In

order to do so, He is developing and releasing among us a multitude of apostolic and pro-

phetic ministries, which will have the authority to tear down strongholds and take captive

the thoughts of many to the obedience of Jesus Christ.

The Lord wants us to respond to Him with humble obedience in the same way

that He responded to the Father 2000 years ago. He did not come to glorify himself, but

to reveal the glory of the One who sent Him. As Jesus concluded His earthly ministry, He

cried out to the Father and asked that those He loved could have the same relationship

with the Father that He had. As the Father was within Him, He was in the Father.

Jesus asked that His people would be plunged into God. He asked that the Father

would be within them and that they would be alive in Him. When this happens, a new

entity will be revealed to the world. The members of the Body of Christ will be inte-

grated with one another and with Him. The resulting unity will so stun the world that

many among the nations, including the Jewish people, will turn to Christ and believe in

    Him.

This war for the soul of the Church has already begun. What will the outcome

be? God is working His purposes out, and this book helps the reader understand His

    plans for us.

Book 2 of Spurgeons Classic Work on the Psalms

Spurgeon called this work The Treasury of David, and it truly is a treasure

that is filled with jewels, gems, and nuggets of gold from the Book of Psalms. In

many ways, this is Spurgeons Magnum Opus. His wife, Susannah, said that if her husband had never written any other work, his writings on the Psalms would have

become a permanent literary memorial to him.

This is the second volume in a six-book series. Senior Editor Beverlee

Chadwick has sensitively updated and revised this Pure Gold Classic for the modern

reader. As you will see, Spurgeon delighted in his study of the Psalms, and it was his

desire that readers would search the Psalms further for themselves.

Reading this book leads one right into the heart of God.

Crimson Streams of His Precious Blood

Spurgeon wrote, Standing at the foot of the Cross, we see head, hands, feet, and side, all pouring forth crimson streams of precious blood. It is precious because of its redeeming and atoning power. By it the sins of Christs people are atoned forthey are redeemed from under the Law, reconciled to God, and made one with Him. He goes on to point out that the blood of Jesus is precious in its purifying

power, its preserving power, its sanctifying influence, and its overcoming power. He

said, Those who fight with the precious blood of Jesus Christ fight with a weapon that cannot know defeat. By trusting the power of Jesus blood, we will always conquer! Spurgeon preached often about the precious blood of Jesus Christ as the only

way for a sinner to be saved. He proclaimed that the blood of Jesus was the life of all

vital godliness. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sinpast, present, and futureand it enables us to draw near to God each day. If youve ever come to the sprinkling blood, youll feel your need of coming to

it every day. Those who dont desire to wash in it every day have never washed in it at

all (From Morning by Morning by Charles H. Spurgeon).
