BRICK BY BRICK
FACILITATOR HANDBOOK
WELCOME TO
THE GAME THAT GIVES YOU A RUN FOR YOUR MONEY!
As the Facilitator, you will be making sure the game runs smoothly and everyone stays on track and on task. You are the master of time (i.e., you will be in charge of setting and watching the timer), and the guardian of the game (it’s kind of like being the babysitter, except you don’t get paid).

Next, players will have seven “days” (comprised of 8 minutes each) followed by 2-minute “nights” to complete the project. GETTING STARTED
Each team will then choose who will take on the roles of Project Manager,
Superintendent, and Laborer. If you have a larger group, you may
organize teams of four with a Project Manager, Superintendent,
and two Laborers.
Instruct teams to remove all game contents from the box. Have the
teams place Project Management and Field Event cards face down.
Teams are comprised of three people who will sit together at one table. Distribute a game
box to each team.
LET THE GAME BEGIN!

POST-CONSTRUCTION WRAP-UPONCE A TEAM HAS COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION, THEY WILL LET YOU KNOW. If you are working with more than one group, be sure to record who completed the project first, second, and third.
You will also be recording the amount in each team’s projected over/under budget column along with any bonuses or penalties. If you would like a template to help you keep track of the teams’ progress and information, you can find the Game Facilitator Presentation at support.procore.com/brickbybrick/ under “Game Facilitator”.

SCHEDULE
If there is more than one team who completed construction on or before schedule:
IF A TEAM DOES NOT COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION BEFORE THE END OF THE SEVENTH NIGHT, THEY WILL BE PENALIZED A FEE OF $500 FROM THEIR PROFIT BUDGET FOR THE EXTRA LABOR REQUIRED TO FINISH THE PROJECT.
The first team to finish will earn a credit to their contingency
budget of $1000.
The second team to finish will earn a credit to their contingency
budget of $500.
The third team to finish will earn a credit to their contingency
budget of $250.

BUDGET
Any team that completes construction under the allotted budget will earn a $500 credit to their
contingency budget.

DETERMINING THE WINNER
Each team will complete a quality inspection of their building. If it is determined that a team’s project was built incorrectly (does not
match the drawings), they will be penalized $500.
With the help of each team, record the final over/under budget and
calculate the appropriate bonuses or penalties.
In the end, the team with the highest amount in their “Projected
Over/Under” column in the Budget is the winner. Every team
who has a positive over/under is still in business (so, they’re
essentially winners too).
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE BUSINESSES WHO SURVIVED!
