History

Brian Etherington Meat CompanyFrom humble beginnings, this Cornish business established in 1954, has developed a long and distinguished history. By concentrating on the basics; such as good customer care, attention to detail and a quality product, Brian Etherington has built up a healthy reputation which is rewarded by a large and loyal customer base throughout Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly.

DeliveryMinimum delivery £25.00 we make every effort to reach the customer at a convenient time however during busy periods this may not be possible. It is possible to ring the office and get an estimated time of delivery.All vans are fitted with multi temperature refrigeration units and drivers are required to record temperatures on the invoice for Food Hygiene Regulation purposes.

PaymentsAll goods are supplied on cash on delivery basis until such time that a credit application form has been approved and processed. Credit accounts to be settled 30 days after date of delivery. Failure to settle within this time period will result in interest being charged. We reserve the right to put your account on stop if payments are not received on time. Bank and administration charges will be charged for returned cheques and credit facilities withdrawn.

Helping put Cornish produce firmly on the National Food MapSince starting production of our Cornish Premier Gold pork sausage in 2007 we have won so many national & local awards the office wall is full.

Bobby Bagnall our sausage maker, a proud Cornishman born in Mevagissey, puts the success down to the wonderful local pork and locally sourced ingredients. Adding ale to a sausage gives it a full bodied flavour and Bobby is particularly partial to St Austell Breweries ‘Tribute’ – the combination of Pork, Tribute and Thyme is a winner.

The produce made in Cornwall harmonises with the beauty of the county, the livestock feeds on lush green fields in rolling moorlands and woods.Cornwall lends itself to the purest fresh air, a lion’s share of water and a Cornish sun that would embrace Monet’s artistic brush. With each of these essentials in place Cornwall is a gourmet’s playground.

Our vision is to bring through the next generation of butchers in Cornwall with traditional skills that will satisfy the most demanding of chefs by providing exactly what they want.

Investing in the future

Cold Store

Good stock levels ensure we are able to keep enough stock to satisfy the most demanding customer.

Premises

Regular audits make sure that the premises and its buildings are fit for the preparation of raw meat products. Funds are regularly made available to repair and replace fixtures and fittings within the factory.

Transport and Delivery

In the last 12 months we have replaced 4 vans in the fleet, all with state of the art refrigeration. This ensures that our produce is delivered to the customer at the correct temperature and in prime condition.

Tracking

All modern vehicles are fitted with tracking devices to ensure our drivers reach their destination safely and swiftly and gives management at Etherington ‘peace of mind’ and due diligence in line with our duty of care policy.

Tracking and the benefits to YOUIf you would like to take advantage of our tracking system and be alerted when your delivery is on its way all you need is access to a computer or smart phone that can receive emails.

Inform Etheringtons of your email and we will do the rest, notifying you when our driver is 15 minutes away from your location.

HACCPWe take Food Hygiene very seriously and our HACCP focuses on four “Critical Control Points”.

CCP4 Temperatures of the product loaded on the vans

Our refrigeration, training and cleaning schedules are all covered in our “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOP), which is all prerequisite, and a requirement by law governed by the FSA.
