Key issues – Too much documents needed during operations

• ( electrical wiring schemes, piping schemes, mechanical implantations, equipment lists ...)

– The real-time information on the systems is composed of plenty of data • pressure, voltage, flow, time schedule of other running operations

– The operation needs to be time and result efficient • limited time frame to operate, and no turning back : it must work

– The maintenance technician is not the expert • the technician is generally not an expert of the system

– Environment is hostile • noisy, dangerous, chemical, nuclear, high altitude ...

– Operations tools is more needed than documentation

– 300 pages of electrical schemes

– 4 Go of 3D models data

– 1300 electrical and embed components

– 9800 connexions between system and subsystem

– 68 000 logical variables to check

Maintenance case applied on – Low voltage feature ( < 25kv)

– Specific non safety feature

– Identified type of failure (with identified procedure, cure and operation)

Experimentation process : – Simulation of failures (not know by the technician)

– Two technicians were running his checking and maintenance procedure

– One technician with no application support

– Second technician with application support
