Power of attorney, wherein MF LEGAL SERVICESis authorized to file the requested trademark registration.
Ten (10) labels with the name and design of the trademark.
*All of these documents should be legalized by theConsul of Panama in the place of issuance
or legalized by Apostille.
Our legislation provides that if the applicant wishes to protect a commercialname before employing it, the applicant shall be given one (1) year starting
as of the presentation of the application in order to submit thecertification issued by the competent authority wherein it is recorded
that the business person is engaged in commerce or industry thatemploys the commercial name whose registry is requested
A document issued by a governmental authority from thecountry of origin that certifies the legal existence of the applicant.
A sworn affidavit signed by the President of the company, legalrepresentative or authorized person to represent the company, confirming
the property rights over the trademark that is to be registered.
If the applicant may wish protection be extended thereto, the name and designof the trademark along with the specifications of the different products or services
to be included under the protection of said trademark should be attached
Registration Requirements
Trademark Renewal
At the conclusion of the ten (10) year period for whichthe trademark registration has been granted, the law provides
for the possibility of requesting the renewal thereof,indefinitely for equal periods.
The renewal request should be presented within one year priorto the expiration of the respective certificate of registration.
To carry this out, the applicant should attach a power of attorney,wherein MF LEGAL SERVICES is authorized to request the
renewal of the respective trademark registration.
In addition, our legislation provides for a grace period ofsix (6) months (wherein trademark protection continues) after theexpiration of the trademark registration certificate. The renewal
of said trademark registration certificate, if not renewedduring the indicated period, will carry the penalty in theamount of US$10.00 for each month in arrears. During
these six (6) months, the trademark registrationremains legally valid.
