Iguana’s Story

Once, there was an iguana with a talent so special he wanted to practice to get into the Guinness Book of World Records. His talent- catching and eating 146 bugs in 30 seconds.

Then one day a lizard found him and showed the iguana how he had the same talent but he could eat 183 bugs. That made the iguana sad, but he knew the only thing he could do was practice.

The competition was 45 minutes away so if he wanted to make it, he could only practice one more time! So he opened up his cabinet, and in less then 10 seconds, 200 bugs were swarming his house... just how he liked it.

1,2,3... 47,48,49... 82,83,84... 102,103,104... 143,144,145- “BING!” went the timer. Iguana had always hated his timer, he thought it always went a second faster than it was supposed to.

Did he beat his record? He had but he had only eaten 168 bugs, and that was not enough to beat the lizard. Well there was no time left to spare as the iguana went down town to try to get into the book of world records.

The lizard went first and ate 176 bugs and now it was iguanas turn. He ate as much as he could, as fast as he could. Before he knew it the time was up. Had he beaten the record?

Yes! He had done it! He had made it into the book of world records! It was by far the happiest day of the iguana’s life.His getting into his favorite book showed him that if you work hard, it will pay off.
