Brain-Based Learning Course Teaching Presentation Rubric Not Proficient Proficient Mastery Presentation Components Presentation was not completed within the allotted time frame. All participants did not have a speaking part. The presentation lasted between 6 9 minutes. Not able to complete within the time frame allotted. Presentation included each participant having a speaking part in the 10 - 15 time frame. The presentation was prepared within the one hour. Modalities Demonstrated Presentation included only one of the modalities and provided no application to the classroom. Presentation included the demonstration of two of three modalities and provided a limited application to the classroom. Presentation included a demonstration of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic and application to the classroom. Brain-Based Strategies Presentation included the appropriate use of only 1 brain- compatible strategies as defined in the course with no transfer to a k-12 setting. Presentation included the appropriate use of 2 to 3 brain compatible strategies as defined in the course with limited transfer ability to a k-12 setting. Presentation included the appropriate use of 4 to 5 brain compatible strategies as defined in the course that can be transferred to a K-12 setting. Overall Effectiveness Presentation was lectured focused with no student engagement. Presentation relied on lecture on student engagement and the replication of the K-12 experience.
