The long-range missile was fired from a guided missile frigate INS Teg on a target on land and it yielded desired results.

This successful maiden firing of BRAHMOS Land Attack Supersonic Cruise Missile has significantly enhanced the prowess of Indian Navy and has placed India into the club of select few nations.

The Indian Army on 02 and 03 May 2017 consecutively test fired an advanced version of BRAHMOS land-attack cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, revalidating the weapon's strike capability.

The back-to-back test firing of the block III version of the missile demonstrated the weapon's unmatched lethality of hitting the centre of a designated target in a "top attack configuration“ with "bull's eye" precision, meeting all flight parameters in a copybook manner.

BRAHMOS, the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile created history on 22 Nov 2017 after it was successfully flight-tested first time from the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) frontline fighter aircraft Sukhoi-30MKI against a sea based target in the Bay of Bengal. The successful maiden test firing of BRAHMOS Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) from Su-30MKI will significantly bolster the IAF’s air combat operations capability from stand-off ranges. BRAHMOS ALCM weighing 2.5 ton is the heaviest weapon to be deployed on India’s Su-30 fighter aircraft modified by HAL to carry weapons.
