The NYTEX Sports Centre

The NYTEX Sports Centre is a state of the art sports facility now quartering 2 NHL size

ice rinks, a 30 thousand square foot sports court which accommodates 5 volleyball courts,

basketball, floor hockey and roller derby.

The NYTEX Sports Centre boasts the ability to convert to a synthetic turf facility for indoor

soccer and lacrosse in a matter of hours and back again for ice hockey in an equally efficient

manner by a highly skilled and professional facilities management team. The NYTEX Sports

Centre has a full time physical therapist experienced in sports related and more specifically

hockey related injuries available to evaluate young athlete’s injuries.

Most importantly the NYTEX Sports Centre is a venue unlike any other in the Dallas-Fort

Worth Metroplex, having been embraced by the surrounding North Richland Hills Community as

a destination for family fun, learning and entertainment.

The NYTEX Sports Centre

Once called the ‘Blue Line Ice Center’ the facility lay dormant, a victim of vandalism and in

disrepair for several years prior to the ‘Vision’ of two savvy brothers.

Frank and Salvatore Trazzera.

With the support of their family and friends set out to leave their mark on the landscape and

development of hockey in Texas in 2006. Former hockey players with a tireless work ethic and

an intense passion for the great game of hockey their persistently positive attitude is palpable

at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

16

The NYTEX Sports Centre

Their philosophy is ‘kids come first’ and they imparted upon the NYTEX Sports Centre staff

the policy to ‘drop anything you’re doing to assist a youngster.’ A culture of fun and learning

centered around hockey has grown within its walls and spread to the surrounding communities

where many of the young players participate in charitable voluntary endeavors.

Excellence and player development while having fun are paramount to the Texas Brahmas Youth

Hockey Association’s experienced and passionate coaching staff.
