2011 EMPOWERED WOMEN LEADING BUSINESS Since we started in the month of May the new presidency in BPW Buenos Aires club, we set some goals and challenges. Thanks to the committee’s efforts and enthusiasm we could succeed in our commitment to reach more women and to give them new tools to be empowered. For this reason, we want to share with all the members and authorities that helped our organization grow a synthesis of the things done. Convinced that our projects have to transcend borders, we visited and received visits from foreign BPW members (Brazil and USA) where a brainstorming of ideas and future work together came through. Another point of work needed was to strengthen the club's image ¨. With this goal in mind and the help of our young members of the committees, we visited several local organizations to let us know in some cases, or to strengthen ties in others. We complemented this work with the development of a new website, new brochures, the creation of a flag and a recruitment and ethic manual accompanied by a strategic plan. So we presented BPW in the UN Argentina Latin American Women headquarters, FAO Argentina, Argentina UNHCR, UNESCO Regional Office for Latin America, Argentina Network for International Cooperation (RACI), Latin American Team Justice and Gender (ELA), among others. Also, we integrate the Social Development Division of ECLAC, the Gender Commission of the Argentina Chancellery, the Zero Hunger Program and Nutrition 10 signed the Earth Charter and Global Compact Argentina. On the other hand, we signed an agreement with the Argentinian University of Enterprises (UADE) and are official Trainers Google Apps, Web being convened by the Latin American Academy of Google. We also did cultural events, activities for world peace, as a complement to our breakfast of work. For all this, we thank you for joining us and we hope to share a 2012 working together.
