Our Vision“We hold the education of the ministry a matter of first importance to the churches of Christ.”These words, spoken by our founder, James P. Boyce, represent what should be the central concern of every committed Christian: the charge to “make disciples of all nations. . . teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
As a Boyce College student you will be challenged to know the Word, to know how the Word relates to the world around you, and to proclaim the Word and Gos-pel of Christ to the lost. This is the vision for Boyce College: Word, Worldview, Witness.
The Word — At Boyce College, we aim to produce graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and confidence needed to shape their world and society for Christ. As a student, you will receive rigorous training in all of the biblical and theological disciplines while also studying how the Bible applies to your specific degree program. When you graduate from Boyce Col-lege, you will possess the tools you need to have an effective and powerful impact on the world for Christ.
2
Worldview — The apostle Paul says that “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Making our thoughts obedient to Christ includes having a realistic understanding of the world and how God’s truth relates to every aspect of God’s creation.
Denny Burk, Dean of Boyce College, says “I want our students to have a Christian worldview, a way of thinking that is integrated with and growing out of God’s revelation.”
Witness — As followers of Christ, we are commis-sioned to “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I com-manded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). With this in mind, we aspire to train students who will be deployed to the ends of the earth to share the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“What we are doing here at Boyce College, I believe, is a fulfillment of the Great Commission. I want stu-dents to be so passionate about the glory of God that they are willing to take His Gospel to the nations,” says Dean Burk.

WorshipA weekly highlight for our students is our one-hour worship service, which is called “Dorm Meeting”. Each Monday night students gather for Dorm Meeting to be encouraged through an extended time of student-led worship and through the teaching of invited speakers. Previous speakers have included: Kevin DeYoung, Mark Dever and faculty members of Southern Seminary. As a Boyce student, you will also have the opportunity to learn under the teaching of world-renowned theologians and preachers every week in Southern Seminary’s chapel services. Recent chapel speakers have included: Ligon Duncan, David Uth, Matt Chandler, David Platt and Joshua Harris.
As a student you will spend more time learning outside the classroom than in the classroom. With this in mind, we seek to make the most of your out-of-class experiences by offering a variety of opportunities to get connected to Boyce student life.

FellowshipAs a student, you will have a variety of opportunities to connect with other students and develop lifelong friendships. There are plenty of ways to relax on campus, such as watching a movie in one of several student lounges or enjoying conversation over coffee in Founders’ Café. You can also enjoy friendly competition through sports tournaments such as “hall ball” or “ultimate frisbee”. Our on-campus Health and Recreation Center has recently been renovated and includes a gymnasium, racquetball courts, swimming pool, fitness room, climbing wall and game rooms outfitted with pool and ping-pong tables. Student LeadershipAt Boyce College, you will have the opportunity to grow as a leader. Whether you’re involved in Student Council, serving other students as a resident advisor, welcoming new students through orientation teams or introducing prospective students to the college by serving as a student ambassador — the opportunities to serve and lead are endless.

Student ProfileTim SweetmanPursuing a bachelor of science in biblical counseling
Tim Sweetman is a junior at Boyce College majoring in biblical counseling. He has been writing about politics and theology since the age of 13, when most of his peers were playing Xbox. A deep concern to challenge teens to think out of a Christian worldview drove Sweetman and friends to publish an online magazine.Today, at 20, Sweetman’s thoughts have matured
and his blog, Agent Tim Online, has exploded in popularity, with more than 750,000 hits in three years of existence. The goal of his blog and his other writings is to push his own generation to think deeply about the world around them through the lens of Scripture.Sweetman grew up near Washington, D.C., a hub of
political thinking and activism, a reality that fueled his love for ideas and writing at an early age. He first heard about Boyce College through Southern Seminary President R. Albert Mohler’s writing and radio show. “As I felt the call to ministry, I knew I needed a place
that would push and mold me both academically and spiritually - that place was Boyce College,” Sweetman said. “Also, the professors that I met during the time I was choosing the school blew me away by their love for the Savior and their unbelievable skill in the classroom. I left class wanting more.”Sweetman is a regular contributor to “Boundless,”
a publication of Focus on the Family, and has appeared as a guest on The Albert Mohler Program. Agent Tim Online may be accessed at www.agenttimonline.com. The blog name comes from a love Sweetman possessed when he was younger for movies and books about spies and secret agents.
“As I felt the call to ministry, I knew I needed a place that would push and mold me both academically and spiritually - that place was Boyce College.”
