20 YEARS FOR THE CONTEMPORARY ART CENTER

BOUVET : A PARTNER IN ARTSBouvet-Ladubay supports and shines in culture thanks to its precious partners

Cinema Television Opera

To celebrate the 20th birth-day of the Contemporary Art Center, Bouvet-La-

dubay invited two masters of 20th century Contemporary Art: Paul Jenkins, one of the great masters in abstract painting and Gottfried Honegger, one of the greatest artists in concrete art.

Benoît Lermercier, curator since its creation, brilliantly managed to have these two artists at the same time as they last met in New York in 1958. That is how he explains its «rai-son d’être» and the path travel-led during the past 20 years: “We have modestly but vigo-rously grown the regional inha-bitants’ and tourists’ awareness to contemporary creation. By offering a wide ranging pro-gramme, we allow the visitors to directly confront the works of art, to love or refuse them; in any case to refine their own taste and reflexion”.

The UB Group, represented by its President Vijay Mallya and his son Sidharta Mallya, was the main Partner of the INDIA INCLUSIVE Indian delegation.

During the closing ceremony, some 3,000 VIP guests appreciated Bouvet-Ladubay wines, Whyte & Mackay spirits and Kingfisher beer of the UB Group.

CRICKET WORLD CUPIndia wins the Cricket World CupBouvet Trésor is in the hands of the World Champions!

For 28 years, the Indians longed for it. Now it is done! India won the Cricket World Cup, the second team sport most present on TV, after football. They beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets. The team captain, M.S. Dhoni celebrated the victory of his team with

the Trésor vintage. All year long, the Bouvet-Ladubay wines will be associated to the Vijay Mallya’s prestigious cricket team “the Royal Challengers of Bangalore”.

Bouvet is proud to be “Indian” for 5 years already !!!

Cinema : For 20 years, Bouvet-Ladubay has shown loyalty in its collaboration with the Angers European First Film Festival, organised by Claude-Eric Poiroux.

Television : Bouvet-Ladubay is a partner of the La Rochelle TV Fiction Film Festival, one of the main

TV Fiction Film events in France. This year, our House had two reasons to be there: defend its film “Grenouille d’Hiver (Winter Frog)” (Nompareille Productions) and celebrate its 6th year of partnership with the Festival.

Dance : The Dance National Centre chose

Bouvet-Ladubay to celebrate the most famous European and French choreographies in Pantin.

The collaboration between Patrice Monmousseau and

“The Loire Valley is a good and reasonably priced source of sparkling wines. These are delicate and subtle wines, with a perfumed impression, a flowery nose and a mineral, fresh and spicy final note.”

For years, this 5-star hotel called “the Pink Palace” has been a historic and privileged landmark to see and be seen in Los Angeles. Bouvet-Ladubay created a special labeling for this unique place. Bouvet Brut is

enjoyed in all the restaurants and bars of this mythical location since decades.

The “Plantation”, inaugurated in Beijing in 2009, is a unique 3-level multifunctional and contemporary place. It hosts exhibitions,

concerts, fashion shows, private parties and viewings as well as wine tastings. The place itself is a performance. The Franco Chinese team managing the place chose the Bouvet-Ladubay wines for all their openning and cultural events. Art and French “Art de vivre” obviously meet here.

Bouvet News#2 - Fall 2011

The collaboration between Patrice Monmousseau and

Gérard Depardieu, a duet with a unique savoir-faire in “Brut de Loire”, gave birth to a new Rosé Cuvée - Appellation Saumur Brut - with a blending of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. “Taille Princesse Rosé”de Gérard Depardieu, by Bouvet-Ladubay was launched in December 2010 in Berlin and in France in January 2011. “This wine whose robe floats between the salmon and onion peel colours offers a complex nose of red fruit and stone cherries followed by a fine woody sandalwood-like note. Power and balance, freshness and sheen. This performance was

no doubt achieved thanks to an undeniably sound barrel-ageing. I can see no precedent or any equivalent to this Rosé Brut de Loire. It is a unique wine”.

Bruno PaumardOenologist

“To blend a Rosé Cuvée is a refined pleasure; to associate it to the Pinot Noir from the Château de Tigné create the Taille Princesse de Gérard Depardieu is a rare greediness.”

Patrice Monmousseau

“Rosé wine is the subtle pressure on a newly born grape.” Gérard Depardieu

Happy Birthday !

Eight times 20 years for our House! How young we are! One time 20 years for our Contemporary Art Center. Two times 20 years for me as Chairman

and CEO and winemaker. How time flies …. And medals pile up: 400 for our wines; I can but be very proud. My family has been overseeing the destiny of this beautiful House for 3 generations. We had to prepare the fourth one. That is done. Juliette, my daughter, has been appointed Deputy managing director by our Board of Directors. This was also the choice of Vijay Mallya, our owner. My great satisfaction is the score we have just obtained for the IFS and BRC European standards after the AFNOR audit: 97.7%. This quality result is a platinum medal for all the members of the Bouvet-Ladubay team. It is also recognition for our new production unit; it demonstrates the quality of the work done there.

2010 has been an exceptional year for our House. It made an old dream come true: to produce more than in 1910, the year Bouvet experienced its greatest fame. At that time 3 million bottles were produced in Saumur to which were added the 2 million produced by the Union Champenoise, its subsidiary in Epernay (today known as Champagne de Castellane). Hundred years later, it is a new achievement for our production which now reaches 5,600,000 bottles. Hundred years may seem a very long time to reach and break the record of Belle Epoque. We must say that the Great War, followed by bankruptcy and a second world war got the better of Bouvet-Ladubay’s success. Fifty years ago when I was hired as a cellar man, the production was 20 times lower than today’s. We fully well know that wine quality is a prerequisite, that nothing is possible without very high quality customers because your demands make our wine a better wine and your choice our success.
