Contemporary leisure industry interiors are regularly obliged to refurbish their spaces and refine their services, to prevent them appearing dated and to maintain their position in a competitive industry.

‘Boutique’ describes intimate, luxurious and often quirky hotels. They are, typically, unique properties operated by individuals or small companies, but their success has prompted multi-national companies to try to reconsider and restyle their own brands.

The former Sheriff Court building currently hosts a bar on the ground floor and a restaurant on the first floor. The project analyses the existing building structure and explains how it may be relaunched as a small boutique hotel.

Glasgow now really needs more four and five star hotels as there are loads of bulk chains cornering the lower end of the city centre tourist trade. We need large classier hotels to attract the tourists with more money.- Glasgow Guide
