Vector layers: Transportation network, hydrography, populated places primary source is OpenStreetMap © OpenStreetMap Contributors duly updated using CROA10 pre-event imagery. Points of Interest from OSM were complemented with Wikimapia, Google Earth and Google Maps. Contour lines, land water boundary, elevation spot points and cliffs are derived from fused EMSN034 DTM product. Municipalities, CAOP 2015. Inset maps: Administrative boundaries (GADM 2015). Detailed mapping of the coast of Caparica (Costa Da Caparica) in Setúbal, Portugal. The core user of the map is Autoridade Nacional Proteção Civil (ANPC). The potential additional user of the map is any other administration involved in urban planning. The scope of the map production is to generate a pre-disaster situation analysis to provide thematic information supporting planning for contingencies in vulnerable coastal areas along with a European framework directive on the assessment and management of the flood risk (2007/60/EC). Risk assessment products: exposure, vulnerability and risk maps and modelling scenarios for population and assets concerning coastal flood by storm surges and coastal erosion hazards. Map products are available in the Copernicus EMS Portal at the following URL: http://emergency.eu/mapping/list-of/components/EMSN034. Delivery formats are GeoPDF and GeoJPEG and vectors. No restrictions on the publication of the mapping apply. All products are © of the European Union. The products elaborated in the framework of current mapping in Risk and Recovery mode activation are realized to the best of our ability, optimising the available data and information. All geographic information has limitations due to scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. The products are compliant with Copernicus EMS Risk and Recovery Product Portfolio specifications. The flood hazard map (Methodology #1) was designed computing the different components that contribute to total water level during a storm: barometric setup, wind setup, wave setup and astronomical tide, plus a component of sea level rise to account for future climate change. Each component was calculated on each sector of the AOI by using empirical formulations published in the scientific literature. The data necessary as input for the formulations (wave height, wind speed, tide height, sea level rise) were provided by JRC at five different probability scenarios, from frequent (5 years return period) to improbable (100 years return period). The slope of the beach and the artificial protection structures, needed as input for the formulations, was extracted from the fused DTM. The resulting total sea level elevations were overlapped on the fused DTM following a bathtube approach and considering possible flood pathways, and the limits of the flood extent were digitized. All satellite images have been radiometrically enhanced and georeferenced. The estimated geometric accuracy of this product is 0.5m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background image. The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 80% or better, as it is based on visual interpretation of recognizable items on very high resolution optical imagery Only the area enclosed by the Area of Interest has been analysed. 1:22,000 Grid: WGS 1984 Zone 34 N map coordinate system Tick marks: WGS 84 geographical coordinate system Coastal flood risk analysis for population and assets - 2016 ± 0 0.55 1.1 1.65 2.2 0.275 Km Contact Map produced on 26/05/2017 by Indra Sistemas S.A. and University of Cádiz (UCA) under contract 259811 with the European Commission.
