• Bottlenose dolphins live in tropical waters (50-90 degrees F).

• Found in Japan, Australia, Southern California, and Chile in Pacific Ocean. Sometimes even Hawaii!

• Found in Nova Scotia, Patagonia, Norway, and South Africa in Atlantic Ocean.

• Most along Cape Cod and Gulf of Mexico in the United States.

• Also found in Black Seas and Mediterranean.

• Lastly, found in Indonesia, South Africa, the Red Sea in Indian Ocean.

• Variety of fish, squid, and crustaceans

• Depends on Location:• Coastal: fish• Offshore: fish and squid

• Eat 4-6% of body weight per day.

• They rely on sound to hunt, communicate, and for protection.

• Dolphins do not have vocal cords.

• Sounds are produced by nose.

• Bottlenose dolphins whistle to speak.
